It’s been a busy day and it’s been a super day. It can be read as one or the other or both. I’m tired. So, here goes the Reader’s Digest version.
I’m being lazy and doing a copy and paste of comments I made elsewhere.
Over the weekend, I booked a doctor appointment online. The time I wanted was met with an “Oops! That time isn’t available” even though it showed up on the schedule. I had to settle for a late morning appointment on Friday. I entered a note to be called if something sooner in the afternoon opened up. Then I prayed. Turns out they had 3 p.m. today so DD took me the hour and a quarter that got us there five minutes early. From where I lived before, it would’ve taken me twenty minutes.
Fully dressed, my weight was just over 120 lubs which is about 25 lubs less than I weighed in February. O2 sat was low but I’d been walking/standing so that was no surprise. BP was good (I don’t remember exactly what it was).
I really do love my doctor. He’s one in a million. He takes time to listen and answer questions. Upshot is, I have a prescription for pain med, I’m to try two teaspoons of cough medicine to see if that will make a difference, I got my B12 shot and he injected my painful shoulder with cortisone. DD took him aside to find out if there were anything about my condition he hadn’t told me. He told her no but that I’m not likely to keel over any time soon. He said I’m strong and strong-willed (that was a nice way of saying I’m a stubborn old woman) and, with good care and enough calories, I’ll be okay for a while. Oh, and he’s also ordering home health and a wheel chair.
The portable concentrator was so nice! DD put an extra battery in her purse and it had to be changed out just before we left the clinic to come home.
Cuz has been hard at work making applesauce from apples they picked this morning. She’s making mine unsweetened since I like tart. I’ll have my own supply, but I’ll be glad to share.
My arm quit hurting for a little while but now it’s back. Maybe it’s because I’d gone so long babying it that being moved outside its comfort zone riled it up. I’ve had my two teaspoons of cough medicine and, so far, so good. It still isn’t knocking me on my butt, though. I do hope I’ll sleep well.
An evening treat was a Ginseng UP.
DD and Cuz went to Walmart this evening and brought back an Amy’s enchilada meal for my supper. They got my prescriptions filled so I’m in good shape. I was shocked when I saw the charge for my doxepin until I noticed it was a three months’ supply. That calmed me down.
While I ate my meal, DD sat on the bed and ate some of the food my friend had brought the other day. I hope it was still good. I’d hate for her to wind up in the hospital with food poisoning. For dessert, we shared the last Theo’s chocolate coconut with almonds bites. I think I like the plain coconut just as well. The almonds are small chips and very skimpy. It was still yummy.
DD and Cuz put my new mattress on the bed. It came this past weekend but it had to expand over 48 hours. I’ve emailed to see if it matters which side is up. Since I’ve been deemed strong (DH would say, “But smell isn’t everything.”) I got a good replacement and aim to sleep well tonight.
It’s getting late and I’m very sleepy. I think I’ll try out that new mattress. At least I won’t be sitting in a hole. I hope.
