Is is my custom these days (and nights), I was awake and coughing for a long time last night. The coughing started as soon as I clicked on “Publish”. With my luck, I might’ve known. I kept hoping for a reply to yesterday’s emails but it didn’t come.

When my nurse friend drove up, I was out on the deck feeding the Catz. She followed me in and was concerned with how short of breath I was. I don’t usually walk and talk at the same time so I was a little surprised, myself.

I sat down while she drew up the B12 and prepared to give me my shot. She commented that she’d hit bone and that I was losing muscle. Well, yes. Use it or lose it and I haven’t been able to use it.

She didn’t stay long. After she left, I rested.

Breakfast was tofu scramble and a cherry turnover. One thing I can say about my friend’s cooking — she isn’t afraid of using salt. I would have liked to add some kala namak to the tofu but it would have been ‘way too salty if I had.

Mid-afternoon, I send a plaintive message, “Did you get my emails from yesterday?” He answered that he had and he’d called in a prescription. What a relief! I called the pharmacy to pay over the phone but they don’t do that. I texted Cuz and told her how much it would be and she said she’d take care of it.

It wasn’t long until there was a knock on the door. It was Cuz’ sister (also my cuz) with the bottle of cough medicine. She came in saying that the road was blocked on the lower end by an 18 wheeler. I wrote her a check and, after we visited a little, she left.

Ginseng Up GingerThere was another knock on the door. One of my friends from church had let me know she would be at the university supermarket and was there anything I wanted? I’d told her so I figured it was her bringing my order by. It wasn’t. It was Cuz’ sister (also my cuz) again. Would i look up an address? The driver of the truck was supposed to be going to an altogether different place. I pulled up a map, did a screenshot and printed it off. She left again and locked me in.

It was getting close to supper time so I heated up some potato soup and had that with crackers. Then I had some of the chocolate mousse. It isn’t nearly as good as the recipe from right here on my blog. I figured it would be milder what with the almond milk but it has a sharper taste. She said she used Hershey’s so that may be the difference.

Dark got here before I knew what was happening and I hadn’t fed the Catz. They will have to catch a mouse.

I’ve been very short of breath a lot today so I went to check the concentrator. It had slid back to 2.5 LPM. I put it back on 3 and it seemed reluctant to stay there. This is bad. I need something I can depend on. Otherwise, I might wake up dead in the morning…

Dear dear Tommie … you’re having quite a time and I’m so sorry. Just know you’re in my thoughts and prayers. … We’re on God’s timeclock and not our own. I know He’s watching over you … I’m praying you’re having a better night’s sleep now that you have the cough medicine.

Well, you’ll just have to read tonight’s post to find out how last night went. If I were on my own clock, I would have already punched out. Life isn’t fun any more. Keep praying for me. Prayer has to be what’s keeping me going.
