Super Tuesday Aftermath

I’ve been doing some looking around on the Interweb and I have found some very interesting things. The turnout among the Republicans was very heavy in 2016 vs 2008. However, Democrat numbers were down, some as much as 44% lower. Overall, the increase in Republican turnout was 70% more than 2008. The decrease among Democrats, 28%. If you want to see all of the percentages, you can click here. Pretty mind-blowing.

Hillary ended up winning a total of 10 states and American Samoa. Bernie has won five. Trump has won 10, Cruz has won four and Rubio has won one. I’ve read that the most reasonable way to stop Mr. Trump is for Cruz and Rubio to join forces but that would make for strange bedfellows.

Ben Carson has stated he sees no way forward for his campaign and won’t be appearing at tomorrow night’s GOP debate. That will take it down to the Steamroller, the Choke Artist, the Liar and the Voice of Reason. (All of the labels except the last one are someone else’s. The last one is mine.) Ben hasn’t announced he’s dropping out yet, but it’s just a matter of time. The debate will be live streamed at from what I understand, and is supposed to start at 9 p.m. EST. I hope they get this little girl to sing the National Anthem.

As an aside, a lot has been said about Chris Christie’s look of a combination of fear, dread and downright terror. I’ve watched some of the videos where he’s standing on my left rear while listening to Trump hold forth. I can see where the descriptions come from. He looks anything but enthused. There are only so many faces the Donald can make so concentrate on Chris and you’ll see what I mean.

In my surfing, I found a some hilarious Bad Lip Reading videos I have to share.

First, Ted Cruz:

Next, the first GOP debate:

And the Democrats:

As you might have guessed, I haven’t accomplished a whole lot today. It’s turned cooler so I wasn’t overjoyed to find four of the six bowls somewhere besides the railing this morning. I only hope I don’t fall and break something retrieving them. This evening, one was missing so I just filled the five remaining bowls and let it go at that.

Oh, one other little tidbit, Google searches for “how to move to Canada” spiked by 350% after the results of Super Tuesday. I’ve already been invited by one of my friends. As much as I don’t like cold weather, I guess I’ll stay put.

I’m thinking the Voice of Reason will be the next one to go.

I’m afraid you’re right. After that, maybe the debates should be held in a boxing ring?
