Hands on the Keyboard

It was just past midnight when I turned off the light and went to bed. I’d think it was time and then there’d be something else I thought of and off I’d go.

The clock had struck 8:30 when I woke. I was bleary-eyed and didn’t feel like getting up but I did. (Grammarly would insist that I should put a comma after “up” and before “but” and that’s why it’s no longer a Chrome extension.) (I’m like Archy of Archy and Mehitabel except I do capitalize letters.)

What time it was, I have no idea when there was a knock on the door. I still had my ratty housecoat on and I’d barely combed my hair. Shower? Not yet. There was nothing to do but go to the door looking like the Mountain Hag.

Standing there, looking like she’d just stepped out of a band box, was my nurse friend. She had come to give me my B12 shot. I was embarrassed to let her in. I told her I’d take care of it myself.

After a bit of back and forth (she’d been at the dentist’s office for three hours and spent lotsa dollars) she left. It was up to me to get everything together and do the dastardly deed.

It was the closest thing to a disaster, drawing the goosh up. I accidentally pulled the needle out of the vial and the B12 sprayed through the tiny hole. I was able to get a ml, anyway. I’m glad they overfill it a bit. I pushed the needle into my leg and the rest is history.

Breakfast was late enough that UPS had brought my package (via the scenic route) containing the enzymes. I chewed three of the tablets and hoped for the best.

My after-shower was the real test. I had to bend over to dry my feet and I coughed a little but nothing like yesterday. I went out and picked the squash and, once again, no coughing and gagging.

I’ve worked on the lessons quite a bit and have finished just over half. I hope to get the rest done tomorrow but time will tell.

DS1 called me this afternoon. He had a quick question and it was really quick. We talked for less than three minutes.

The power bill came and I was interested to see what the new a/c would do to it. It’s run most of the time since Cuz put it in. There were a couple of days when it was cool enough to turn it off. I expected the bill to be more but it was $2.23 LESS. Can’t beat that. My credit balance is $317.94. It may get up (or down?) to what it was a couple of years ago.

Cuz came in when I was fixing the squash. I offered to share but she turned me down. She said she’d been out “piddlin'”. No wonder she stays so skinny. She’s seldom still.

I hope I didn’t speak too fast. I’ve had a bit of a coughing spell. I took a couple more tablets so maybe that will calm it down. Is it a miracle cure? That would be nice.

Punctuation rules have loosened considerably in the past several years. Personally, I’m all for it.

Me, too. I think too much punctuation can make an article seem stiff.
