It’s my bedtime already but I’ve had my bath and Twinkle’s been fed. It isn’t like I have to be in bed any time soon but it would be nice.
It dawned on me this morning that I hadn’t done a report of the side by side comparison of the cream “cheeses”. Well, I’m going to remedy it now.
First, there’s the GO Veggie! plain. I only had enough left for one half of a bagel which made it ideal for a side by side. Even though the bagel had cooled some from being toasted, the “cream cheese” softened to the point of almost liquid. That didn’t affect the taste, though, and it still tasted good.
As for the Daiya plain, it stood up to the warmth with no problem and behaved more like real cream cheese. However, the flavor wasn’t as true as the GO Veggie! It’s a bit sweet (which doesn’t bother me) while it still has a bit of a tang.
The winner of the taste test is GO Veggie! The winner of the texture test is Daiya. While taste rules, there’s a big BUT. If the GO Veggie! were not soy based, I could give it the win over Daiya with no reservations. BUT the soy is predominant so I’ll keep using Daiya, taste aside.
It’s been another rainy, foggy, cloudy day until up in the afternoon. I posted on Facebook, “I think I’m already getting SAD.” The Cavalry’s wife responded “??” I guess the acronym was lost on her.
My sisters have made it back to their respective homes. It’s cooler there than it is here. Presently, the temperature outside is 66 degrees. Where I’m sitting, it’s 70.
I talked to DS1 this afternoon. He’ll be singing with his college days group again soon. It’s an every five year reunion and a pretty big deal. For me, it’s a don’t miss.
One of my friends shared this on Facebook. I don’t remember which one it was but that doesn’t matter. The question was, “Which of these drive you crazy?”
My sister said I should also add:
She didn’t give me the definitions. She also wanted “all those plurals that are misspelled”. Maybe she’ll leave a comment and finish what she started. She said she shared it but I didn’t see it anywhere.
Thankfully, when I got word from Cuz that she needed me to feed the critters, the clouds had parted enough to let the sun through. Only two Catz and Big’Un showed up but I’m sure the others didn’t go hungry. Tomorrow, it’s supposed to be back to storming. From posts on Facebook and checking the news page, there have been tornados in Alabama where some of my friends live.
I checked my area on wunderground.com and it looks like there’s a big band of storms that are headed mostly north but some of them are tracking this way, too. I’ll pray for Twinkle and me and go to sleep.
