Riddle Me This

When does FOUR plus SIX equal FIVE?

I’ll be dropping a hint so read on. If you think you have the right answer, leave a comment. If you’re right, you’ll get a round of applause from me in Saturday night’s post.

I slept warmer last night. I was almost too warm at times so I turned the heater off today.

My thermometers have been giving wrong outside information long enough and I wanted a more comprehensive report than I was getting from them. After looking at a goodly number of weather stations, I settled on one that gives me indoor/outdoor readings for not only the temperature but humidity, too. There’s a graph that shows barometric pressure history plus the current pressure. Based on that, it gives a graphic that shows the forecast. One of the outfits I looked at had the image of a woman dressed in attire appropriate to the conditions. Someone asked the question if it got hot enough, would the bikini come off? Chortle chortle tee-hee guffaw, I guess.

When I first put the batteries in, I was pushing buttons and trying to figure out how everything worked. “If all else fails, read the instructions.” It said NOT to push any buttons until it set itself up and then to set the options. I took a battery out which reset it, then put it back in. I left it alone and, sure enough, it did what it was supposed to do. I’ve mounted the sensor out of the sun facing north. So far, the reading has been a few degrees cooler than the one that’s on the house.

I don’t do many of the quizzes on Facebook but the one about geography intrigued me. Here are my results:

Facebook Quiz

I didn’t know all of them right off but I found that a lot were trick questions. It would ask something about a city but out of the four answers, three of them were countries. That’s just an example. It varied a lot. As for Carmen Sandiego, the program we used to have is long gone.

My editing has been lagging behind what it should have been so I got myself in gear today and finished up the large file so it can be split into 13 lessons and inserted into the templates. Hopefully, the fellow in South Africa that does the helps will have them finished soon so I can have at them. He hasn’t uploaded anything for the next quarter. I know because I just checked. Somebody said, “Then you’ll be all done!” Well, no. Then we’ll start on first quarter for 2015. That sounds strange.

I rewarded myself by watching the last two Farmed and Dangerous. I hope they’ll make more episodes though #4 has a pretty definitive ending.

When I was mounting the sensor this afternoon, two of the Catz came to see what was going on. I heard hissing and Twinkle was lunging at them as far as the storm door would let her. Thank goodness, I left the tape over the screen at the bottom. It stops her from pushing it out again. I’m sure my cousin is glad she doesn’t have to keep repairing it.

I fed the critters around 3:30. The male baby had plenty of water but the females were getting low. For a wonder, all of the Catz showed up. It was a relief since they didn’t yesterday. With Blackie gone, it makes me a bit paranoid.

The cool weather has made it better for Getting Things Done. About time, don’t you think?

When it’s divided by two. This may not be what you’re looking for, but it’s true, nevertheless.

It’s technically correct but not the right answer. You didn’t pick up on the hint!
