The timer on my netbook shrilled for the 14th time in the last five days. I scrambled out of bed and closed the browser. There was sweet silence but I still had to do the dreaded deed one more time. I looked forward to that last dose, though. It meant there wouldn’t be ENNY more. I warmed up some water (really) and swallowed the pills, making a face as they went down. Done and done. Good riddance.
Going back to bed, I took advantage of the dreary day and slept until almost 8. Twinkle had been fed so she didn’t stay outside the door and meow.
After I’d been up for a while, the phone rang and it was a number I didn’t recognize. I answered. A man with a thick accent told me he was calling about my million dollar plus a car win. I hung up. He called back. I didn’t answer. The number didn’t show up on my MagicJack so I pulled up the account and it wasn’t on the call log. Thankfully, it had come through my Google Voice number. Turns out it originated in Jamaica. It’s blocked now.
The computer had a couple of updates so I did them and got it ready to mail. I put stickies on it to show where the power button is (if the new owner might not recognize it), marked the card reader and noted the receiver for the mouse. Or is that a transmitter? Oh, well, it’s a little flash drive lookin’ thing that isn’t one. I took the battery out and packaged it by itself in the box. It took longer and more energy than I realized it would.
I heard my CIL’s truck and looked out. I don’t know if the battery had run down or what but there was an extension cord running to it. Might have been for the block heater, though. It’s a diesel and when I drove a Peugeot, it had a block heater. One of the fellows at work called it my “electric car” because I had to plug it up in the winter. It hasn’t been that cold today so maybe it was just a precaution.
Loading the dishwasher has been about as much as I’ve done today. It isn’t full by any means but I’m going to run it. The compost should be taken out but I had no urge to brave the cold damp weather. I’ll do that tomorrow. Weatherbug says it will be nicer then.
Genese and I are playing another game just like the last one that I won. Genese was ahead of me, 12385 to 9446 when I played a word for 10114 points. Now, who do you think is ahead? That was kind of a low blow to someone in pain. I guess I’m taking advantage of her weakness.
The taste in my mouth is marginally better. I’m enjoying food a bit more. Wonder how long it will take to completely get back to normal?
Time to go check Twinkle’s bowl and give her the night’s allotment. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
