Enough, Already!

I’ve topped myself. I didn’t think I could do it but I did. When I got ready to take my last NAC of the day (night), instead of downing it with water, I mixed up a cup of Dandy Blend. That would have been fine except I put in a goodly amount of Seasonal Nog.

When I downed the rest of it and prepared for bed, I started coughing. I coughed and coughed and coughed some more. I coughed until I threw up—twice. Maybe it would be more accurate to say I regurgitated because it hadn’t been in my stomach long enough to get gross. The nightcap came up the same way it went down. Sorry if this makes you uncomfortable.

It made me uncomfortable, for sure. I do believe I have ruptured blood vessels in my eyes from coughing and hacking. I’d give a pretty penny to be able to breathe easily and go through life without coughing up my toenails. Protect your lungs, people. When they’re the problem, there’s really nothing that can be done to help.

Eventually, I got over my spell and was able to sleep reasonably well.

I woke before daylight for a change. Of course, with all the clouds and fog that’s been hanging around lately, who can tell what time it is by the available light, anyway?

When the man got here to do some repairs, I’d already had my devotions, my bath and was dressed. And my cousin thought 9 o’clock might be too early! He came in to do the inside things first. Getting under the house is a dirty job.

Replacing the innards in the commode in my bathroom was the first order of business. Then he started on the outlets in the two bathrooms. (I just tried the one in mine and it still isn’t working so I guess he isn’t finished.) I’m not going to list everything he did because just thinking about it makes me tired.

I lost track of how long he’d worked when he called it a day and left. I know that was after noon.

My CIL came over and got the printout for the dishwasher. He’ll pick that up on the way home from an appointment. He’d gone to get the critters from the vet. I asked how they were doing and he said they were still out of it. Later, I saw three of them and they seemed pretty mellow.

When the man left, I got busy. He’d had me wash a load of laundry so he could find where the leak was coming from under the house. That was to take care of.

My B-12 patches had come when I checked outside. I’d put one of the duds on yesterday but I figured I’d try out one of the new ones. I do believe they’re better.

The editor emailed that she hoped to have the lessons available by the 15th. I finished proofreading/correcting the last two and uploaded the file to the server.

My friend called to update me on her husband and now she has a bug! He’s doing very well but she was on her way to the doctor. She sounded as awful as I do.

Then, I hove to and started in on the house. By exercising hour—or half hour—I had as many steps in as I would on any other day after my 25 minute session on the rebounder. I skipped it for today.

After several hours’ work and three loads of laundry, I’m going to turn in. It’s been so warm the Dr. Heater hasn’t switched on. It got up to 72 degrees here on the mountain and 74 in the valley. There was even some sunshine now and then.

Twinkle hasn’t seemed to feel very good today. I had three upchucks to clean up off the floor when I got up. She hasn’t eaten much. I hope she’ll pull out of it. That gives me something else to pray about.

Have you tried honey or honey and lemon when you’re coughing? Sorry you’re having such a hard time with it. Remind me if you have had a diagnosis of a lung problem, for if you have, I don’t remember it.

I’ve tried honey and it gave me a sore throat. The cough is chronic and doesn’t respond to much of anything. My diagnosis is pulmonary fibrosis. The CT report said I have interstitial lung disease. Either way, nothing can be done unless I have a lung transplant and I’m not to that point. My O2 sat on room air is consistently 98% so I don’t need oxygen yet.

I also have many odds and ends around the house that need attention. Hope I can get my sometime handyman to do them soon, but he may be spending time out of town helping his son with a project he’s doing.

There’s still much to be done here but he doesn’t mop floors and clean windows. 🙂

The necessary things were done yesterday. There are cosmetic things that may never change.
