I have a salty taste in my mouth

and I haven’t eaten any salt for the last week and a half. Hmmmmmm.

Yesterday was exercises through a pushup of how long I don’t remember.

Food was:

20 ozzies grapefruit juice
24 ozzies banana/spinach/mint (almost too much) smoothie
White globe grapes

20 ozzies banana/green curly leaf lettuce smoothie
3 cups Fred’s Mom’s Salad

Huge bowl of salsa with organic cucumber and maybe 2/3 of a small avocado

I was able to get out for my walk in the morning but it rained in the afternoon! And it kept it up for a decent amount of time! We kept going to the doorway and looking out. One of the girls said it was as exciting as the first snowfall. I disagreed. It was MORE exciting!

My Farmer said to call her today to see what the ground was like since she won’t go into the fields if they are wet. I hoped it was too wet for her to pick because we need the moisture more than I need the food.

When I got home, the buckets were full to the brim along with the containers I’d put out. It had all but stopped but I could hear the trees in the woods dripping and it sounded wonderful!

I got up shortly after the alarm alarmed this ayem. It was vision therapy day. I could tell it had been three weeks since I last did it. By the time I got through, my eyes were pretty much behaving the way they are supposed to. They remember well.

Food today:

21 ozzies OJ
20 ozzies banana/spinach/mint smoothie (less mint than yesterday but still pretty powerful)

Maybe 18 ozzies banana/red curly leaf/green curly leaf/romaine smoothie (all of the greens were organic)
A banana
Lots of white globe grapes

4 tomato salsa made by the recipe except for the salt
2 quarts salad (red curly leaf/green curly leaf/romaine/organic cucumber/Vidalia onion dressed with tomato/mango dressing)

This morning, I got out and walked but I didn’t have a chance this afternoon. It was another busy day.

My son called and told me some sad news. His grandfather had died either last night or this morning. He hadn’t seen his grandparents for a long time until last Friday when his aunt called him to come over to her place for a visit. They were able to spend about four hours with them. It was very sweet of her to include my son, daughter-in-law, and my granddaughter. This is a picture of the happy time:

The Family

We never know what’s going to happen so we need to make every moment count.

No rain and none in the forecast until, I think, Sunday and that’s only 30%. Hopefully, the heat will pop up some storms in the afternoons. We can only hope. Right now, my mint is waterlogged but one of the women in the office said her husband had tried everything to keep theirs corralled and you can’t do anything to it that will kill it. I let it be.

I called My Farmer and, sure enough, the ground was too wet. I don’t know how much we got on that side of the mountain but the other side got 1.5″. Not enough to break the drought but it helped. She will call me in the morning and verify what she can bring me.

It’s been cool enough the a/c hasn’t kicked on but once and I turned it off then.

And now I shall bid you all a fond adieu and go get ready for bed. Tomorrow is when I do my shopping for produce. I was telling the Lunch Bunch that I shop, primarily, the produce (that’s where the raw food is) and toilet paper aisles. They thought that was logical.

Good night!

It is so true that we need to make every moment count. Congratulations on giving up the salt.

Sorry, Val. I’m not giving it up. I’m staying away from it until Sunday and then I’m going to have a celebration of my two year anniversary. It’ll be a cheat day with salt. I do think that’s better than the pizza and hamburgers Eugene suggested last year!
