I’m paying for my indiscretion with salt.

The pants I wore today were longer than most I own and I was glad. My ankles look like I have elephantiasis. Well, maybe not. I looked up some pictures on the WWW and mine aren’t that bad but they’re bad enough to make me not eat anything with salt today. I have a salty taste in my mouth, anyway, and I have been running to the bathroom over and over.

I’ve put another page up. This time, it’s a fruit and veggie page. It will be an ongoing project.

Today was class day but I hadn’t remembered last night. I should have been in bed an hour earlier than I was. Actually, I should be in bed earlier every night but I’m usually not. I got up and did my vision therapy.

I waited until after class to fix some watermelonade. The last watermelon I got is mushy in the middle so I chose to blend it rather than trying to eat it.

Late morning, I went for my three laps while I listened to the rest of the fourth CD of PHP. That reminds me, I need to rip another one tonight and transfer it to my Micro.

I’ve been getting e-mails today about people who have signed up for the BES using my name as a referral. It’s exciting! I guess midnight will be the cutoff for people to get it at the reduced price.

Back to the business at hand. Lunch was another quart or so of watermelonade. I drank it at my desk because I was going to go out and get my hair cut.

The time came for me to leave for said haircut but I got a phone call and didn’t get out the door when I’d planned. I did make a little jog off on the other side of the street to get some cucumbers and corn. When I got to the shop, she was still working on the person ahead of me. I got there right on the dot according to the clock on the wall. While she cleaned up the area, I took the opportunity to visit her facilities. She cut my hair shorter this time so I can spike it.

When I got back to the hospital, I was getting hungry so I peeled and ate a cucumber. They are so good! They’re pickling cucumbers and they don’t have the huge seeds that so many cuckes have, especially at the end of the season.

I’d planned to go see my friend in the nursing home but something came up that prevented it. I’ll try to go Sabbath afternoon.

It was home, James, and don’t spare the horses. Once inside, I made a bowl of gazpacho. Actually, it was salsa with a chopped cucumber thrown in for good measure. NO SALT. Then I had a good-sized salad of green curly leaf lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, avocado, dressed with lime juice. NO SALT! My ankles are beginning to look more like ankles than stumps. I hope they’ll go down the rest of the way while I’m sleeping tonight. IF I sleep. I’ll probably be keeping the path to the bathroom hot.

I may actually get to bed on time tonight. Good night and sweet dreams!

    Hi Tommie
    Roni here,
    I like your new site;
Wordpress is really cool for it’s organizational abiliites, and I like how you are utilizing it.
Do you have any new pictures of yourself….I need motivation! I just can’t seem to lose this tummy!

    Hi Tommie,
I’ll bet you already have several comments since you asked for them, sometimes I’m slow at getting on my computer.
While I’m here, I wanted to tell you to try adding several stalks of celery to things you want salted. If I have been without salt for a few days then this really helps when I have a salt craving. Yes, My name is Terry in the Keys and I am a salt-aholic. ; )
As Dr. D. says “the solution to pollution is dilution” so keep eating juicy fruits and water for a few days to dilute your salt and make it easier for your body to get rid of it without irritating your kidneys. The watermelon is obviously doing it’s job for you in that area.:)
I love reading your blog and reading and writing on your forum too. Wish people would start new topics under a new name though to make it easier to find info they have added under an older, unrelated topic heading. Maybe in time they will.
May both our addictions to salt fall by the wayside for us soon.
Friends along the raw journey, Terry
