I did my vision therapy this morning since it’s Wednesday. It’s always nice to have a change of pace.
Breakfast was OJ, some organic mango, and a banana/romaine smoothie. I took the smoothie to work with me. I’d heard on the news that there was a severe storm warning for the area where I was headed so I grabbed my umbrella on the way out the door. When I got outside, the level of light was like it was after sundown but before nighttime. Even later than twilight. There was a thick, thick cloud cover. My neighbor shouted, “Good morning! Don’t get wet!” I told him it looked ominous. I was several miles down the road when the rain started and it wasn’t long until it was coming down hard. When I got into the valley, there were some roads that were under water. Not really flooded but with water across them. I sat in the car after I parked until I felt like I might make it inside without being struck by lightning.
The mail person was still sick so I ventured out to go to the post office. By that time, the rain had stopped but it was still cloudy. It stayed unpleasant long enough to knock me out of sunning this morning.
When I got back and had all the mail put up, I had the rest of the mango as a snack.
Lunch was a banana/spinach smoothie, cucumber (which I shared) and three Campari tomatoes.
It wasn’t long until the sun came out and you would have never known that there was a storm anywhere near us earlier. I took a break and went out for 15 minutes.
I’d been craving salad all day so it was nice when the time came for me to take the mail to the post office and come on home. I had the rest of the cantaloupe, tomatoes with Tajin, and then a large salad of romaine, Boston, thinly sliced cucumber, dressed with cashew dressing and sprinkled with Tajin. The romaine was a little on the tough side but it tasted good.
It’s unusual for me to get this done so early but I do want to get to bed on time. I read some more in Mad Cowboy last night. It was good but not as personal as it was the night before. I’ll read some more tonight!
See you around the same time, same station tomorrow!
