The morning went pretty much as usual. I did my exercise routine, then had a kiwi and a banana/blueberry/date smoothie. I had to finish the smoothie on the way to work.

I had a couple of dates later, then my bowl of watermelon. I’d seen the pastor in town and he came in while I was in the process of watermeloning to apologize about my waiting last night for a meeting that didn’t happen. It was nice of him to do that.

Lunch was a large romaine, Boston, spinach, avocado, tomato, onion, lime juice salad with some of Matt’s dip. I also had some celery sticks.

I’d gone by the grocery store to check on some ripe bananas that I figured they’d marked down by today. No such luck. They were still 59 cents a lub. The produce lady said she might mark them down tomorrow. I was incredulous. “You are going to sell those for 59 cents a pound???” She said, “I’m hoping to.” I let her know that I wasn’t one who was going to buy them. I went to their competitor and got 16.5 lubs at 29 cents per. They are very nice bananas. I put most of them in the “cool room” where the tomatoes are stored and the rest in the kitchen.

I promised Farmer John’s wife that I would bring her some plastic grocery bags and she probably thinks that I’m one of those people who say they’ll do something and then don’t. I loaded them up and went over to their stand and it was closed. I left them in the car and will take them by tomorrow.

When I got home, I changed into my revealing clothes and took my picture. I’d worn them when I was eating watermelon one day back when it was warm and ended up wearing my food. I had to wash them and the tank top “drawed up” as a lot of people around here would say. It ain’t purty but here are the quadruplets.

Here are the sets of twins from first to current.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I can’t tell that much difference in this month and last. It’s true that my weight loss has slowed but my clothes are looser. And I do hope that I look better in my regular clothes than in these.

Roger calls these “before and after” pictures but I call them “before and during”.

I sat down with my last large bowl of tomatoes for awhile. I’m afraid that the summer is over, as much as I wish it weren’t. There are trade-offs, though–other things coming on in the fall that the summer doesn’t have. For instance, I got some persimmons the other day. They are the largest I’ve ever bought and the one on the left is almost ready to eat. The one on the front right is shaped like the native persimmons in this part of the country but it would take at least six of them to make one that big.

I have some grapefruit that are about as big as good-sized oranges. I squeezed a couple of them for a good drink.

Supper was a banana/date smoothie.

Good night, one and all!
