I got up just before 7:30. I weighed, measured (lost another half inch) and had plenty of time to exercise. I’d failed to do any more than one set of squats yesterday. I’ve done two today and will have to remember to do another one before I go to bed.
Breakfast was a large bowl of watermelon. Later on, I had a banana/orange juice smoothie and some figs.
Just as I was getting my lunch ready, my daughter left voice mail. I finished fixing some Instant Spinach Soup and called her back. We talked for almost two hours. In the course of our conversation, she informed me that people on the raw food diet age in reverse. If that’s true, I wonder why she is eating cooked? I was going to have some “Campbell’s” tomato soup, too, but it was too late when I got off the phone.
I’d been going to try the recipe for Onion Bread for a long time and I finally got around to it today.
2 1/2 lbs sweet onions, peeled
1 cup ground sunflower seeds
1 cup ground golden flax seeds
1/2 cup olive oil
3 oz. Nama Shoyu
Put onions in food processor with ‘s’ blade and process until small pieces, (but not mush). Put in mixing bowl with the other ingredients and mix thoroughly. The flax will absorb liquid. Smooth onto teflex sheets* about 1/4″ thick and place in dehydrator for 5 hours, turning over for another 3-4 hours or until dry and crispy. Either break into pieces or cut with a pizza cutter, and store in refrigerator in an airtight container.
My version is 3/4 C flax seeds (I didn’t have a cup full), ground, omit the olive oil, and substitute Marmite for the Nama Shoyu. The rest is as listed. It’s in the dehydrator and smelling up the house. It smells good. My daughter had made it and didn’t like it. We’ll see how I like it when it’s done.
Supper was a nectarine, a peach, and a banana/blueberry smoothie. I’ve started putting a little water in the smoothies with blueberries because the fresh berries must have pectin in them. They can thicken in a heartbeat.
Total calories were a little over 1350, fat and protein were both 6%.
