Today is Day 14 at 100% raw. I had some really profound thoughts going and closed the browser–bingo! they were gone. So, you are spared. I was saying something like it hasn’t been as difficult as I thought it would be, partly because I have had some good support from people like Frederic Patenaude and Roger Haeske.. I have ordered Instant Raw Sensations by F.P. and am looking forward to having more variety in my diet.
For breakfast I had sunflower seeds, two bananas, 1/3 avocado, half a large pear, and the last nectarine. Lunch was a large salad, almonds, and cherries. Supper was a smoothie made of bananas, blackberries (I’d whizzed them up in my MiniPrep and then strained the seeds out), and pineapple. I put in some of the pineapple juice to make it more liquid. I blended it all briefly in the VitaMix and it looked pretty good. It didn’t taste too bad, either. One of the principles of drinking a smoothie is to do it slowly and savor it so it will digest better. I’m anxious to get the recipe book.
As for staying 100% raw, I am going to do it as long as it is a benefit and not a liability. I have so much more energy than I’ve ever had that I would be reluctant to “mess” with it. I know that there are theories out there that say you have to be 100% raw to be healthy, others say 75%, but how can you calculate how much you are eating either way? Even steamed food is more concentrated than raw food and it’s easier to eat a lot more of it.
I got to bed fairly early last night and want it to be earlier still tonight. That’s all for now!
