Just wanted to weigh in my my 2 cents about kombucha.... Please note that I am not yet a fan of Kombucha tea (KT) However from what I read the health benefits of KT is from the SCOBY filled with helpful bacteria and yeast that is very beneficial for us.

Like Tommie, the idea of caffeine and white sugar made me pause.... But the SCOBY eats the sugar and releases the bacteria.( Honestly I don't like the idea of feeding ANYTHING white sugar!)  Personally I am not sold either way on anything but fermented foods, KT being fermented tea. Being that it is fermented, I DO believe that it may have some benefit to those of us on a raw food diet.

But hey, if it is not for you.... don't fret. There are other good things out there too!

You can also feed it organic cane sugar that isn't white.

When I was waiting at the bus stop for my brother this morning, I was looking in the window of the second hand book store (they were still closed).  There was a book on kombucha about the health and healing benefits.  If I remember this afternoon when I take him back I will go in and buy it. Should only be a few dollars so if it is not useful it won't matter.  Will let you know if I learn anything good from it.
