The only ones I've tried so far have been terramazon's Organic Raw Cacao Nibs, didn't taste terrible but had a vinegary smell to the them and I've read that that's a sign of low quality. Also does anyone buy their stuff in bulk from Radical Health? Good experiences with them etc.?

I'm pretty new to all of this but I'm going to live this lifestyle for the rest of my life, I got started on this path after watching a documentary called "food matters", I never realized we were all so malnourished. But it makes sense with everything being so processed.

All that I have tasted/smelled/used have that smell.

I would trust anything from this woman:  http://www.purejoyplanet.com

How much is shipping, Shari? And are the nibs organic? I got these since I'm collecting the ingredients for that yummy cheesecake. They are organic and the shipping is free if you subscribe. The cost is much lower, too. I figure two lubs will do me a LONG time.

Actually that is the brand Mia Dalene had in the chocolate class I took on Saturday and she is very particular about her ingredients.  I just hate giving Amazon more $$.  How do you get free shipping?  I think we talked about this before, but................

If you go through my link, you'll be supporting the forum. Subscriptions get free shipping unless they have changed their policy. You sign up, get the first shipment at the subscription price, then, if you decide you don't want more, you cancel. If you do want more, you don't do anything unless you want it sooner and then you have it shipped sooner. You get an email in advance of any shipment so you can skip the next one if you don't need it that soon. Totally flexible. I have lots of foods set up on subscription. Even stuff for Twinkle.

I used to buy cacao nibs from Infinity health in Brighton but they are really bitter. I tried Raw cacao nibs from www.Red23.co.uk last week which I'm really pleased with, they smell incredible and seem to be much fresher

Has anyone ever bought a whole unopened cacao pod, with the whole beans in it? That's about as fresh/raw as it gets.

In California, I saw them eating them that way, fresh out of the pod, they were even sprouting!!! Look up sprouted cacao on YouTube to see them eating some and see what other parts are edible besides the beans in a fresh pod.
