I didn't have any success with the celery.  Tried 2 lots, they both had lots of new shoots but they both ended up rotting.  I tried one in water first and then planted it, the other one I planted straight in the garden and thought it was going to work but then the whole thing just fell apart.  Will keep trying.

I planted the bottom part of aussie type shallots that has the roots still attached and they are growing great.

Keep experimenting folks.
