Someone else mentioned raw food in relation to another question earlier and I just wondered what people on a diet like that eat? Obviously raw food, but what sorts of meals do they have? Is it filling? I think I'd struggle on a diet when I didn't cook anything.

If you look under "Optimal Mixtures" there are lots of ideas as to what we eat. It's mostly fruit with some greens and nuts and seeds thrown in.
And, how about going into the "Journal" section and introduce yourself! But in the mean time, hello and welcome to our little corner of the universe.

Also, Tommie lays out all of her food in the early part of her blog. So if you go there you can look at the archives for examples of 100% raw eating.
Welcome, Sweetblood.

A lot of people don't seem to realize how exciting and delicious raw food can actually be! Raw food doesn't have to be bland. You can use dressings (at least I do) and an assortment of exotic veggies can be found in so many places. You just have to know where to look. Same goes for nuts, grains and other items which you can find in your local grocery store.

When I find a new fruit or veggie, it's exciting! Even if it's expensive, I'll try it at least once. A friend told me about a nut she and her husband ate. They found out later it has to be cooked to take away the toxicity so know what you're eating! One of them had vomiting and the other diarrhea. If something has to be cooked, it shouldn't be eaten anyway.

I knew about raw a year ago and just let it pass my head. Four weeks ago, I finally decided to do it! I didn't realize what could be made with raw fruits and veggies plus grains...byt oh my! This site has awesome photos. My wonderful hubby bought me a couple books, dehydrator and vitamix there. All my appliances were free shipping which made him happy. But the front page has pictures of foods I'm going to try to make! Here is the link http://rawologie.webstarts.com/If anyone wants to follow my weightloss, here is my blog! http://rawfoodfastingchick.blogspot.com/

Awesome you got all the toys at once! And that your husband is supportive. We're a couple of the lucky ones who have partners going on the journey with us.
How about going over to the "Journals" section and starting a journal of your own for this site. That way we can follow along and make comments and give you encouragement.
We'd like to know more about you.........we're a nosy bunch here! Things like where you live, what do you do, do you have kids or four legged kids, blah, blah, blah,...........like I said we're nosy.

Thanks Shari! I'm so excited. My husband think I'm nuts ( pun intended) and I've let myself go so bad that there is no other direction but BETTER! Yes, thanks I will check out the journaling section and get cozy!!!

Welcome to the forum Christineraw. Those brownies sound delish, you had better make a double batch next time How about going to the recipe section and posting the recipe, they sound too good to keep to yourself

Personally, I stay away from grains but I'm curious--which ones do you use and how?

I'm not that keen on recipes. They are either not as good as expected or they are horribly complicated. I do like finding new fruits to try, though!
