Liquid with body, but too thin to spoon.

If you blended it, it would probably be like a thin cream.  Cheesy

Peach, I spread them out a lot more than that. I think that was my problem.

give it another try Tommie and let us know how you go.  I haven't been able to stop eating them since taking those pictures Grin

Dwain I love chia mixed through OJ the best.  I love the taste of OJ and the chia doesn't change the flavour.  I only leave them at the most 15mins and sometimes I just stir them in and drink it straight away.

Dwain and Peach, does it make a drink that you semi-chew?

Yes, or you can just enjoy the texture with your tongue as you drink it.

I've been too lazy to try it again. I'll have to get on the ball and do it. The mixture smelled so good! I wish I'd saved them to go on my salads but I didn't.

My DSL is down just about more than it's up. I'm going to call this afternoon and see if I can get the problem resolved. Otherwise, I'll have it jerked out and save $37.95 a month.

I was thinking you could sprinkle them on your salad, but thought too late Grin

Sorry about your DSL, hope you can get it sorted out soon.

I wrote about my DSL in my journal. Figured that's where it belonged. Grin Didn't have a whole lot to do with chia chips.

Speaking of chia chips (that IS the subject, isn't it?), I wonder what it would be like to mix in some flax?

They might turn out more like flax crackers than chia chips.  Give it a try and see, just make a small amount to experiment with.  I don't like flax so I am not really telling you to add them Grin

DD doesn't like flax, either, but she's clear across the country. I have to go grocery shopping today so I won't have time. I want to make some banana/blueberry ice cream, anyway. It just takes a few minutes. I may put mint in this batch. It was cinnamon the last one.

The ice cream sounds delish.  Do you need to have a proper ice cream machine to make it?

so easy Garlic Chia Breadsticks

INGREDIENTS

3 cups nut milk pulp
1 cup chia seeds (black NOT white)
3 cups filtered water
⅓ cup olive oil
⅛ cup garlic, crushed and chopped
¼ cup dried basil
5 tablespoons Italian seasoning
2 teaspoons Celtic sea salt

PREPARATION

1.  Soak chia seeds in 3 cups filtered water for about 15 minutes
2.  Crush, peel, and chop garlic
3.  Combine all ingredients into large bowl and mix well
4.  Adjust ingredients to taste
5. Spread breadstick dough onto Teflex dehydrator sheet and shape it into a large square about ¾” thick (it will take up almost the entire Teflex sheet)
6.  Score the dough into desired size
7.  Dehydrate at 115 degrees for 12 – 15 hours total dehydration time.  Start with 6 – 8 hours then flip off Teflex sheet onto regular mesh sheet for further drying until desired crispiness. *

*I don’t dry to complete dryness.  I leave it a little moist and soft.
