Spending Data

It’s been a quieter day than I expected. I’d thought the aide had said she’d be back today but I guess I was wrong. I thought I was once, but I was mistaken. The pharmacy manager was supposed to call me. Of that, I’m certain, but he didn’t. So I still don’t know whether Cuz will have to take my business elsewhere or not.

My stomach still hasn’t felt good so I played it safe with water, crackers, Sprite, Cream of Wheat, applesauce and toast. Instead of my multigrain bread, I requested some of Cuz’ wheat bread since I figured it would be less harsh on my stomach.

This afternoon, I settled down to watch the first episode of the fifth season of Call the Midwife on Netflix. It had been broadcast on PBS in April but I hadn’t been aware of that or I could have watched it online. The last season had ended rather ominously with the doctor rejoicing with his nurse wife over the effectiveness of the new anti-nausea drug for pregnant women, Thalidomide. I won’t go into what happened on this first episode because my roommate also watches it and I don’t think she’s watched this season yet. I will say I’m thankful all of my pregnancies took place after its effects were known.

unidenBefore she left, Cuz had told me she’d be late getting home. I thought she meant LATE late but she was here by 7 TT or so. She had brought the other two handsets and their charging bases down and the phones were fully charged. I had her bring one of the bases in here and another of the handsets. Now, I have one by my chair and the other on my bed. I slept with it on my bed last night and it didn’t fall off so it should be okay the way it is.

After I was dosed with my cough medicine, Cuz hugged me good night and closed the door. She’d brought me a full glass of water for tonight and a half for in the morning. When I took my doxepin, some of the water went down the wrong way and I started choking. Since it sounded much like my usual coughing, there was no way to let anyone know I was in trouble. I finally was able to clear it and I was okay again. If I really were in trouble…

Guess I should focus on the positive. The oil for my nose came today and I positively think it isn’t going to help any more than any of the other stuff I’ve tried. When I cough, my nose runs and when it runs, I have to blow it and that takes the oil with it. Guess I’ll just have to put up with a bloody nose.

I still have half a glass of water to drink. I’d better get to it. I’ve merged the bulletin with the announcements and emailed/posted it on Facebook. Tomorrow, if I can summon the energy, I need to correct the Sabbath School lesson for the fourth Sabbath of the current quarter.

And the beat goes on.

Prayers continue. My dermatologist instructed me to treat skin scrapes and abrasions with plain Vaseline. He said to buy a new jar and a box of new Q-Tips. Cover the abrasion/scrape lightly with Vaseline using the Q-Tip, not the finger. I would not do anymore cleaning off with the alcohol wipes, too harsh. I have very very fragile skin form long steroid use. I’ve found that Vaseline works better than anything else.
    Sending love your way,
    Patricia

I’m not using the prep pads any more. The place on my nose is just red now. It’s the inside of my nostrils that get bloody because the oxygen is so drying.

I might apply the Vaseline there, too. You can reapply it as often as needed as it’s not antibiotic per se.

I’ll try it and let you know how it works out.

I need something that will stay and not slide and the jelly seems to be doing the trick.
