Looking Back

When I got up to take my thyroid med, I stayed up. No going back to bed. Oh, I wanted to but I didn’t.

Pushing breakfast later, I did what I needed to do while bending over. That involved unloading and reloading the dishwasher. The little bathroom was down to less than a full roll of toilet paper so I took a sack to the big bathroom and loaded up five rolls. Feeding the Catz was another chore to be checked off. I’ve seen three of them today but no black tom.

Pulse OximeterI’m glad i wrote about Desmond last night. I’m just not up tuit tonight. When I took a shower this afternoon, I did it sans the cannula. Curious about what my O2 was, I checked it with my pulse oximeter before I put the cannula back on. Earlier, it had been 98% and had bounced up to 99% once or twice. It was 70% and ever so slowly started rebounding. When I put the cannula on, it crept up to 80% and struggled to get to 81%. I’m tired.

It was morning before I ever went to bed. In spite of my staying up so late (early?), I had a prolonged coughing episode. I briefly wondered what would happen if I aspirated. I didn’t.

Among all the articles and write-ups about Desmond is one on Badass of the Week. It’s written more in “today’s” phrasing than the rest of them. There’s nothing stilted about it and it uses language that might make the man, himself, blush. It’s a good one, though, and if you are interested in reading it, you can find it here.

Late this afternoon, an email came in from one of my church friends asking me to remind everyone that there will be no prayer meeting this week. Also, the church will be closed for the next two Sabbaths because of camp meetings. Two of them. I sent out the email with links for information for the two and also posted it on Facebook.

One of the gatherings will be live streamed. The King’s Heralds will be in concert on Sabbath afternoon. I’ve emailed both the group and the conference to see if it will be live streamed as well. Of course, I won’t hear anything back from either one until tomorrow at the earliest. I do hope it will be since there is no way I can be there. I’m sure I’m not the only one who would benefit.

While I haven’t heard from Cuz, I saw pictures of her celebration on Facebook. She wasn’t in any of them but it looked like a good time was had by all.

Tomorrow is my B12 shot. As for right now, this about does it for me. I’m running on fumes and my day isn’t over yet. I still have to do my teeth regimen and cough a lot before I go to bed. Good night.

I read the article you mentioned about Desmond Doss. The man was even more amazing than I ever realized. What a story! What an example of “…though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,” as well as the care of angels.

On a much lighter note, I hope your black cat comes back today!

If you were able to meet him for the first time in a normal setting, you wouldn’t have any idea what he had gone through. Incredible.

      Me, too.
