Getting Bit

Ever since I retired and no longer observe Daylight Saving Time, I have been rather smug about being able to keep things straight. It worked until yesterday. That’s when it came back to bite me in the butt.

Note:
This is a two day catch up because the server was down last night and I couldn’t post. As usual, merm came through and here I am again.

My nurse friend lives in Central time. I live in Eastern but, as I’ve stated, don’t observe DST. The standing appointment for my B12 shot is 10 o’clock on Monday unless there’s a conflict. If there’s something else going on with either side, we let it be known via private message on Facebook.

After the time change, I didn’t know whether she would be here at 10 my time or 10 her time. The former came and went and I figured it was the latter. If I had known for sure, I would have been able to eat breakfast but as it was, I put it off until later. Next week, I’ll know.

Cuz brought the peppers in and I was surprised they weren’t frozen solid. They were semi-frozen. I put them in the bags and, per instructions, called to have Cuz come back and get them. My CIL answered and said she was outside. I was going to try to yell for her but ended up taking them back to the freezer, myself. She was surprised I got them packaged so quickly. I didn’t know I was supposed to be so slow.

I worked on lesson 7 and got the anchors in both versions and the links in the BibleGateway version. One a day is about all I can handle.

Cuz and I had our visits. After the last one, I was planning to blog. Clicking on the link brought the message that the page couldn’t be displayed. I went to IsItDownRightNow and here’s what I saw.

Down

I spent the next few hours refreshing the page only to get the same message. A few minutes after midnight, I gave up and went to bed.

Today, I’ve been pretty much washed out. I left the bed cranked up and unmade, thinking I would take a nap but I never have.

This is Cuz’ birthday. She came in this morning and I sang to her. Poor woman, she got tortured on her special day. I asked her if she and her best friend were going to eat out or anything but she figures they’ll do that this weekend since the other birthday is next week.

Nothing got done on the lessons today. I have to feel pretty good before I’m up to the tedium. I’d like to get all 13 out of the way before I have to start on the first quarter of next year.

This evening, Cuz was waxing philosophical about this being her 46th birthday. She figures she’s lived most of her life already. I told her she’s still young. For heaven’s sake, I’m 71 and I don’t feel like I’m ready to cash in yet.

I’ve gotten into watching videos about Josh Tetrick and Hampton Creek. The video at this link makes me envy Andrew Zimmern for the second time in my life. The first time was when he was able to eat fresh durian. If you don’t know who Andrew is, he’s the person who will eat ANYTHING (except walnuts). And by anything, he’s eaten rats and bugs and other gross yucky stuff.

I’d better wind this up before I start sleep-writing. If I’m not careful, I’ll be up too late again tonight.

If didn’t change my time pieces when the time changes, I think I’d stay in a dilemma.

I can handle my side. It’s only when someone else is involved that I have to be concerned.
