Thursday All Day Long

I have no idea how it happened but I slid right over my quiet time and went on with my day. It wasn’t until late this afternoon that I realized I’d skipped it. So…I had my morning devotions about 10 hours late. Better late than never, I guess.

One thing that happened was I overslept. I was up too late last night and I guess my body was trying to make up for lost time. At any rate, that’s one thing that messed up my routine to begin with.

I had a voice mail reminding me of an appointment. It struck me as somewhat odd. Then I had one from Cuz. That was very odd. The phone hadn’t rung. I mulled it over for a while and finally decided Windows update had run on my netbook and MagicJack hadn’t started when it did. I checked and, sure enough, MagicJack was nowhere to be seen.

Cuz had asked me to go over and have my CIL call her. Their MJ has quit completely. I don’t know if they are still paying for it or not but they shouldn’t pay for a service they can’t use.

Speaking of paying for a service, I had faith the other day and re-upped my subscription for another five years. After reading so many times I’m not supposed to survive that long, how about that for thumbing my nose at the predictors?

I’d bought a head of cauliflower at ALDI and kept looking at it every time I opened the refrigerator. I got it out today and steamed it whole. I made some cashew “cream” to have with it and it’s GOOD. It would be good on bread, too. I might try some for breakfast.

Super duper gut bombs have been niggling at me and I would have made them today but I didn’t have enough water distilled to do it. What comes from the tap smells so strongly of chlorine that I don’t want to use it. I’ll have to get enough ahead and go for it one of these days.

Last night, I had the first coughing episode in a long time. The good thing about Reglan was that it kept those at bay. If it hadn’t messed up my body and my sleep, I would have kept on taking it. Too bad what fixes one thing messes other things up.

Cuz came over when she got home this afternoon. She was bearing a container of watermelon. It was too late to eat any today so I’ll probably have some for breakfast. Do you know I haven’t bought the first watermelon this summer? I can’t remember another year like it.

She (Cuz) sat down and told me about her day. I learned something. She kept talking about a knee wall. I wasn’t sure whether it was nee or knee so I asked what it was. Any wall that doesn’t go all the way up to the ceiling (or, I guess, roof) is a knee wall because it’s knee high.

Later, she came over not long before dark. I think she’d had her fill of MEN. She threatens to send them over to me but I choose not to take her up on the offer. Thanks, anyway.

That’s about it for tonight. If I forgot something, be grateful.
