A Better Day

I’d called in my refills yesterday. This morning, I called for a status and got the message that the pharmacist was still working on one of them. I knew which one that was. For some reason, I get a three month supply of my thyroid med with NO refills. Why, I don’t know. It makes for touch and go every quarter. At least it isn’t every month.

Finally, after checking multiple times, everything was ready. I took a bath, got dressed and went over to see if Cuz needed anything from town. No. She was fine, supply-wise. However, it looked as if she was in somewhat of a pickle with the bathroom plumbing. I left her to it and headed out.

It was hot and in no time flat, my back was wet. I turned the a/c on high and was pretty much cooled off by the time I got to Walmart.

As I approached the produce section, I spied the female half of the road trip couple. She and I visited for a little while and I tried to tell her about price matching but it seemed not to “click”. She was willing to pay $1.98 for grapes when ALDI has them for 99 cents. I’ve since sent her some links and told her how to match them at the register.

I waited until the last thing to go pick up my prescriptions. Since I’d had one transferred and my thyroid med was considered new, the pharmacist wanted to consult with me. That’s the first time it’s happened but I let her know I was okay with both.

The man at the checkout looked to be older than me. He certainly needs an inservice to teach him how to bag. He had stuff piled on top of my bananas. I redid that bag before I left the line. At least he got everything rung up right including my $2.79 Silk and my 44 cents a lub bananas.

When I got home, I made a salad which I consumed while my ear of corn roasted in the oven. The broccoli needed to be used and it was far more than I could eat so I steamed it, then froze it. That will come in handy later on. I packaged it in sandwich bags and then in a freezer bag.

Cuz came over for a visit and brought a bag of cat food. She admonished me to let her know when the bag is half empty and not wait until I’m scraping bottom. She’d finished her project (the floor in the utility room) and had the washer and dryer in place. She had the third load of laundry in the dryer. That woman can accomplish more in an hour than I can in a day.

It’s getting late and I’m sleepy. Time to fold my tent and silently steal away.

Your day sounded like your days used to sound – normal. So much better than a few weeks back! So happy for that, and you’re probably happier!
