Today has been 180 degrees different than the past several. No rain. Plentiful sunshine. And with those two, higher temperatures.
Along the lines of temperatures, one of my sensors got out of whack and shows about 30 degrees above what it actually is. When it was showing 108, I took it down and removed the batteries. I left them out long enough for everything to reset but it didn’t work. The sensor that’s been in the pantry is now outside. The weather station is so old I’m sure the sensor can’t be replaced.
Today was B12 day. It wasn’t long after 10 that there was a knock at the door and it was my nurse friend. She had a bag with her with several squash and zucchinis. Those were in addition to what Cuz gave me yesterday. She wasn’t late but she explained, anyway, that she’d had to stop and shoo the goats away from the blueberry bushes.
After she left, I surveyed the contents of the bag. There were three zucchinis and three squash. I don’t know where I’m supposed to put all this food! I know I can’t eat it all.
Cuz came over to see me later and she said she’d just gotten up. That was early afternoon. Turns out she had been getting broken tile off the floor and sliced her finger in the process. It was bad enough for a stitch or two but she refused to go to the ER. My CIL bandaged it and it was soaking through already. We visited for a little while and she went home to change the bandage.
After she left, I busied myself in the kitchen and cooked a mix of zucchini, onion and tomato. Then I sliced up some of the yellow squash and fried it. It was the first fried food I’d had in many a moon. That was topped off by heating up the leftover noodles and chai pow yu. After I ate my fill, I had a Coconut Bliss coconut bar from eons ago. It was a little icy but still very yummy and very very fattening. THEN I had some chocolate chips. I think I’m good until tomorrow.
Cuz came in and wanted to know when I’d planted squash. She took me out and showed me a plant that’s growing by the dill.
It has quite a few blossoms:
And had given birth to a perfectly sized squash.
Time will tell if I get enough squash for a meal but, in the meantime, I have plenty.
Cuz came back over for a short visit and left when it started getting dark. I’ve had the a/c on today and turned the EcoBreeze on when it started cooling off outside.
After I took my shower this morning, I cut about 3/4″ off my bangs. I don’t know why they have to be left so long. I also did a load of laundry and have run the dishwasher. And now it’s just about bedtime. I must comply.
