A Reprieve

There were a few periods of hard rain last night but not many. It was very dark when the phone rang at 8 o’clock and woke me from a sound sleep. It was the gastroenterologist’s office calling to reschedule for the second time. The doctor wouldn’t be in that day—again. I scrambled around and found the list of appointments so I wouldn’t have two in one day and a date was settled upon. We’ll see if this one works.

All morning, it was dark with off and on with rain. I was watching Wundermap on wunderground and when the line of storms passed by and there was a little clearing, I made haste and got ready to go to town. The drive down saw some wispy fog but nothing that required the use of windshield wipers.

Walmart had all but sold out of blueberries but I still got three pints. They were priced at $2-something but I got them for 99 cents with price match. I got a half dozen avocados with price match, too.

And avocados brings up a pet peeve. It’s hard to find decent ones these days that still have the stems in. There’s a thing going the rounds on Facebook about how to tell if an avocado is ripe and that’s to take the stem out. I won’t buy an avo that doesn’t have the stem. They tend to go bad much more quickly if they aren’t whole.

It’s getting to be time to think about going to bed. The last time I looked out, none of the Catz were in evidence so I guess they are all tucked in somewhere. I really don’t plan to sleep the day away tomorrow.
