Outside, it got up to 88. That’s still cooler than 95 in the valley. It was 75 in the house when I got up but it didn’t stay there long.

Cuz surprised me by coming by. She fed the Catz so I’ve done nothing more but given them tidbits today.

My package came after its 57 mile one way side trip. Tracking showed that it made it to the local post office at 5 something this morning and then was delivered. No sorting completed or out for delivery. BOOM! it was in the mailbox.

I’d planned to go to town today but it wasn’t hard to talk myself out of it. I had a bag of organic kale in the freezer that had been there too long. It was time to cook it.

I threw all caution to the wind, turned on the exhaust fan over the stove and set about cooking. Besides the kale, I opened cans of pinto beans and hominy. Earlier, I’d picked three cherry tomatoes and that was my meal. Oh, I had some roasted garlic bread with the beans on top.

The cooking cranked up the heat in the kitchen. It’s still 82 in there. That’s only one degree warmer than where I am now, though. I shouldn’t get cold tonight!

Can kale be frozen raw and then cooked later? Sounds that way; I didn’t know that.

I just put the bag in the freezer. It was well sealed. Kale in the garden is better after a good freeze. It worked for me.

Tomorrow will be cooler (“they” say), then Sunday even better. We need rain!

We have a slight chance of rain here today. I hope it materializes.
