Little by little, the house is getting warmer. By warmer, I mean it isn’t cooling off much overnight from the high of 83. I keep thinking I won’t be able to sleep but, so far, it hasn’t been a problem. It helps that the EcoBreeze brings in cooler night air that blows almost directly on me.
The Catz’ food was down to almost nothing but Cuz and my CIL were here today and gave me about half a bag of food from their house. I don’t know how long it will last. I’ll have to ration it, I guess, but it’s hard to turn a deaf ear to pleading “meows”.
As hot as it got here today (87), it was 10 degrees cooler than the high in the valley. I can be thankful I don’t live down there.
Today has been another low-key do little day. I ate the last of my salad stuff plus three cherry tomatoes out of the garden. Oh! That brings up another subject. I have a tomato plant growing on my counter.
This was a tomato that I bought the first day I was out driving and shopping on my own since my hospitalization. The others that I ate were kind of on the mealy side so I wasn’t chomping at the bit (or the tomato) to eat this one. By and by, little bumps came up on it so I decided I’d watch it and see what materialized. As you can see, what did was tomato plants growing out of the sides. If it gets mushy, I’ll have to throw it out but it’s interesting to see what it’s going to do from here. It doesn’t take much to entertain me.
we all need something to amuse us….lol…love the tomato though, I have never seen or heard of that happening, maybe you should lay it on top of some soil in a pot on the counter and see what it does, It might be a very strong plant and hopefully the fruit would taste better than the others if it is so hardy.
I think I’ll just let it grow where it is.
Strange tomato! Couldn’t figure it out from the picture.
The seeds germinated inside it and they are growing through the skin.
