It’s the Thought That Counts

After a good night’s sleep, I was all ready to get dressed, go forth, and do. I found that it’s the freedom that’s attractive since I was in no hurry.

Early afternoon, I took a shower and got dressed. I put a load of towels in the washer and waited to put them in the dryer so I could get them out when I returned.

I’ve wanted some good tomatoes for I don’t know how long and I was going to get them today. I grabbed my keys and purse, locked the door behind me and went to the car.

Said car gave its usual “beep beep” when I unlocked it. I put my purse in the passenger seat, positioned myself comfortably, put my key in the ignition and—nothing. It weakly clicked and that was that. I got out, locked it and came back in the house.

Cuz had thought she would be home today but, try as I might, I never saw a vehicle at the house. I texted her, “Car is DOA.” ‘Way later this afternoon, she said she was trying to get home tomorrow. It’s a settled fact I’m not going anywhere.

A couple of Catz showed up for food. I felt bad they didn’t have water, too, so I put a pan out for them. Then I remembered seeing a waterer in the closet and got it out. It was grimy so I cleaned it up, filled it, and it’s by the food dish.

After I finished up the load of towels, I did a load of clothes and that’s about it for today. I caught up on some other things that weren’t critical and posted some on the forum.

DD hasn’t called today but I didn’t expect her to since we saw each other only yesterday. I haven’t talked to anyone, either. Emailing has been pretty brisk but I’m going to have to call it a day and go to bed. Good night.

Well, that was a disappointment! Hope you can get help today to get the car going and actually be able to go somewhere on your own.

Time will tell! I’ll probably end up having to buy a new battery.

What a letdown! Hope today finds you free to go and do whatever you want to. Wondering if local strawberries are on your list.
