It’s been a rainy day in my part of Tennessee. Cuz came over and brought in my latest case of Amy’s soup that replaces the case with the bent cans.
My sister has been very generous and shared her tiny black ants with me. Cuz thoroughly wiped everything down with white vinegar but the ants don’t realize they don’t like it. I don’t like to do it but I guess I’ll have to go the poison route.
Poor Cuz didn’t stay long. She’d worn herself out yesterday and needed to go home to rest and recuperate.
Since I had two full cases of Amy’s Summer Corn & VegetableI figured I’d crack open a can for lunch. When I did, it smelled a bit suspicious. Not spoiled. Not vegan. I don’t know how I missed the no-nos in the ingredients but I did. I looked at the label and it plainly says, “Contains MILK“. Well, it was open. I needed to eat. A little milk and butter wouldn’t hurt me and so what if I wouldn’t be vegan for one meal?
I ate what amounted to two helpings of the soup with a couple pieces of olive bread and some vegan cheddar squares. So far, so good.
Later, my nose started running almost constantly. I’ve been gassy and now I’m wheezing. Years ago, I would have said that was normal but it hasn’t been for a long, long time. I’ll be handing soup out to anyone who will take it. You can bet your boots I’ll read ingredients more closely after this fiasco. I don’t think I would be stretching it if I put dairy down as an allergy.
This morning, I talked to Genese and she is beside herself and thrill-worthy. She must’ve prayed long and hard to win the giveaway. I’m glad she got it. Her day was bright even with the rain. The set was supposed to ship out today.
I’ve been sleeping sans O2 and doing quite well, thank you. I sleep much better than when I have to keep arranging the cannula off and on during the night. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do away with it completely one of these days. It’s getting to more of an impediment as I increase my activity. Pray it will be history soon.
