Making Up for Lost Time

For the last two nights, I have slept with my smaller pillow on the wedge with the neck pillow on top of that. It works out to be much more comfortable. While I still don’t sleep as well as I used to, it’s getting better.

HOWEVER, I didn’t go to bed until almost 2 o’clock this morning. I couldn’t even bribe myself to go any earlier. It seems after a late meal, I need to sit up until it’s had time to settle and it took longer than usual. I can tell you right now, bedtime will be earlier tonight.

I’ve been coughing today. When DD called, the phone rang once and that was it. I called her back on her cell phone so I gathered she was at her SO’s place since we usually converse on her home phone. It wasn’t easy to carry on a decent conversation because I was coughing so much. Even though she’s my daughter, it’s embarrassing.

The temperatures have been mild. It almost made it to 60. Currently, it’s 53 which is downright balmy for this time of year. When I took the compost out, I didn’t have to wear a coat. The Catz were disappointed once again by the contents of the food scraps. Twinkle would’ve liked the celery leavings but she was a strange animal. She also liked raisins but I didn’t let her have more than one now and then.

I’m still hacking away. I was reading about the side effects of ranitidine (generic Zantac) and came across the info that it loses its effectiveness with long term use. I took 150mg for a long time before the pulmonologist switched me to 300mg. Seems I should be able to do without it if it isn’t doing anything for me. I failed to take it the other night and felt better the next day. It’s three months until my next appointment so I think I’ll call tomorrow.

The avocados I gave DS1 should have gone in the fridge when they got home but I failed to say anything. I texted him today to let him know. He said he’d have my DIL take care of them. I wished him luck. Neither she nor my granddaughter will touch one. They know not what they are missing. Guess it leaves more for him!

Emails have been going back and forth about the next quarter’s lessons. Maybe I won’t have quite as many corrections to make. I will, no doubt, end up with more to do after they’re split, though. That’s why I’m paid the big bucks.

I remember years ago the above-mentioned DIL had made a big batch of guacamole. (Is that the correct spelling?) However, I also remember how she refers to it, which I will not post here. It might spoil someone’s appetite.

Never knew her to make it (and, yes, that’s the correct spelling). And I know what she says it looks like. Has no effect on me.
