This is the day so many people have waited for. Special food has been prepared in households and people have gotten together to watch The Game. I’ve discovered it’s streaming on nbc.com so I have it open in a separate tab. I can keep up without having to actually watch.
Of course, having DD in the Seattle area, I’m a bit partial to the Seahawks. When I talked to her today, she was in the process of making a jalapeno popper dip to take to merm’s where the two couples are watching the game together.
For myself, I took the rest of the leftover chili, diced some onion, added some vegan cheese and heated it all up in a little Corningware casserole. I had that with corn chips (organic and non-GMO). (Guess organic means non-GMO, anyway.) THAT was MY Supper Bowl.
Last night was a good one. I woke to cloudy (!) skies and hadn’t gotten dressed yet when the doorbell rang. It was Cuz. She came in and we had a nice visit. She caught me up on a lot of the goings-on in her world. I had several bags of trash and some boxes to be taken out and take ’em out, she did. I was helping gather up stuff and was feeling pretty good about being so active when the coughing took over. It’s so frustrating not to be able to do anything without a bad reaction. Guess I should be thankful I can still breathe, somewhat.
This afternoon, the fog moved in and the rain started coming down. It hasn’t rained hard but it’s been pretty steady. Tomorrow has snow in the forecast. We shall see what we shall see.
Andy’s description of a football game is the first we ever heard of him. I thought we were in California, which would have been before 1953, but maybe not.
I remember how Mother used to laugh at it.
I know about as much about football as Andy purported to!
You ‘n’ me both. I watched a little of the game and it looked like chaos to me.
We went over to Andy’s folks and I made homemade pizza for everyone and played Skip-Bo and Apples to Apples (with the ladies – the men folks watched the game). We also celebrated AJ’s birthday. It’s been a tradition for us for nearly as many years as he has been alive!
My sisters are fans of Skip-Bo. I’m not acquainted. Glad you had fun!
