die hard. That’s the saying and I’m finding out (for the umpteenth time) that it’s true. For 17 years of Twinkle’s life (and countless others before she came along), I got in the habit of closing the commode lids. Animals always love a good supply of fresh water and I aimed to deprive them of the toiletry.
Now, I’m finding that it’s, oh, so handy to have the lid up when I’m in a hurry. The way that happened was I failed to close it one day recently. When I went into the bathroom to answer Nature’s Call, it was a relief (no pun intended) to find I had precious seconds shaved off the visit.
The upshot is, I’m trying to consciously NOT close the lid and congratulate myself when I go in and it’s still open. Maybe this habit will be broken in the near future. We can hope.
And now on to other subjects.
It was cloudy when I woke but the clouds soon rolled away and the sun broke through. It was sunny for the larger portion of the daylight hours.
Cuz texted and asked me to feed the animals today and tomorrow. When I went over, of course I was escorted by a clowder of Catz. The sugar babies acted like they were starved and the male was out of water except for a drop or two that had litter in it. I had to distract both of them to keep them away from the door. I’m always paranoid about their getting out into the house. Cuz has told me not to worry about it but if that happened, how would they get food?
The editor has been making so many changes to the lessons that it’s making my head swim. I finally had to just resign for tonight and go back to see what she’s done tomorrow.
I kept hearing noises outside. I turned the spotlight on and opened the front door. There’s a cold wind blowing. ‘Tain’t a fit night…
