Since the dark went away, I know there had to be sun behind all those clouds. It hasn’t peeked its face through all day today, though.
This morning, there was a thick fog. I was able to make out the house situated north/northwest of my house. This is how it looked at 8:45.
By noon, the fog had lifted but there was still a heavy cloud cover.
The weather hasn’t improved at all. There’s a chance of snow showers after midnight. The temperature has dropped below 30 and I’m glad I don’t have to go anywhere.
My friend from church has called several times today. One of the ladies was taken to the hospital with a blood clot in her leg. Last I heard, she is to stay overnight and the doctors are trying to decide the course of treatment. I’m surprised they didn’t put her on heparin but I’m not a medical person. Maybe that’s the wrong way to go.
The last call was to tell me there will be no church services this week. One of the men who has been attending for several months is to be baptized at the church in the other valley and that’s where we’re supposed to go. She was rejoicing that she doesn’t have to do a bulletin this week.
From what I’ve seen on the news pages and Facebook, it looks like the story of the missing couple won’t have a happy ending. To add insult to injury, some unscrupulous person tried to set up a “gofundme” account to collect money in their names. There are so many twisted minds out there.
Here I am, ending on a sad note again. In spite of all the bad in the world, there’s also good. And God is still in control, ultimately.
