My breathing kept me awake much of last night. It’s distracting when a person can hear herself breathe. Honestly. I like for my breathing to be unobtrusive. Be there but don’t attract attention.
If I coughed a good, deep cough, the wheezing would go away for anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two and then it would be back. Then, I started coughing and couldn’t sleep because of that. At 4:48 a.m., I got up and took the first dose of cough medicine I’ve had for many months. I went back to bed, back to sleep and didn’t feel guilty at all when I slept until 8 o’clock.
Twinkle was navigating to her chair from the kitchen when I got up. I don’t know how she’s managing. I don’t know how much she weighs now but it has to be less than five lubs.
Today was B-12 Day. I got out my weapons and went to work. Pushing the needle into the rubber stopper, I hit bottom and, sure enough, when I started to insert the needle into my leg, it was blunted. I took it back and started over. Pushing the goosh back into the vial, I got another needle and filled it. THEN I had second thoughts about using goosh that could have been contaminated and squirted it down the sink. Well, there was a whole vial wasted.
I got out another vial, syringe, the works and repeated the process. This time I was successful. I took a long, hard look, though, and decided that, to keep from having the danger of repeating this scenario every week, I had to get the right needle length. I sat down and ordered the right size and got a 10% discount for remembering the code. They’ll surely be here by next Tuesday.
The editor realized today that the deadline (she has imposed it) for publishing the lessons is 13 days away. Had anything been done on the file?? I directed her to the email I sent her on November 21 and gave her the link to the final draft. Guess I’ll have to get started on the helps soon.
Twinkle is resting on her chair. Last night, she was able to jump up on my lap and I petted her little skeletal form. I’d sworn to myself that I wasn’t going to urge her to eat but I did pick her up (!) this afternoon to carry her in and try to tempt her with her favorite food. She nibbled a bit and went back to her chair. I guess I’ll let her starve in peace.
My bed is all made up with my wedge pillow. I hope it works. If it stops my cough, I’ll sleep on it every night from here on out.
