A Misty Day

Last night was another cough until I upchucked night. I’m getting tired of this. Those episodes wear me out even though that one wasn’t as prolonged as usual. Cuz asked me if I couldn’t take something for the cough. Yes, and I have in the past but it keeps me from getting stuff off my chest.

This morning, I was wheezing a bit. I hate it when that happens. It really bothers me to hear myself breathe. The pulmonologist asked me once if I sounded like a musical instrument when I’d wheeze. Sometimes, yes, but I prefer the music OUTSIDE my body.

My sunning has been kind of hit and miss. Yesterday was a hit. Today was a miss. I watched the clock until it was time, checked the outside for sun and it was there. I took my chair out and sat me down. As usual, here came Big’Un. After a minute, I thought I felt something on my arm. Then it was on my leg. The clouds were rolling in and a misty rain started to fall. I picked up my chair, came back inside and it wasn’t long until the rain was pounding on the roof. So much for that.

The bulletin came in ahead of time today. I worked on getting the gutter widened after I’d already updated it for Sabbath but it isn’t going to be printed, anyway. For online, it looked just as good as I’d set it up originally. To make it look decent with a proper layout, I’d have to start from scratch and I have no burden to do that.

Twinkle was sound asleep a little while ago when she sat bolt upright and meowed a shriek. It was strange. I’d like to know what’s going on in that feline mind of hers.

dogs-cats-colorblind-deuteranopia1Cuz was telling me that cats are colorblind. I did a bit of sleuthing and found they are—and they aren’t. They can’t see all the colors humans can but can humans see all the colors that are really out there? I’m sure we can’t just as we can’t hear all the sounds (especially after we get older).

DH’s niece was lamenting that this is the time of year for all things pumpkin. She doesn’t like pumpkin in any flavor or scent. 97581-pumpkin-dog-treatsThere’s a dog—a black lab—in her family that she dotes on so I posted this on her timeline. She lives in an area that has a Trader Joe’s (I don’t. I don’t think Trader Joe’s knows my neck of the woods exists.) I don’t think she thought much of the idea of giving her beloved hound pumpkin flavored treats.

I do love butternut squash soup and I know it would be just as good with pumpkin. Next time I go to the Apple House, I’ll have to remember to get both some acorn and butternut squash.

It’s occurred to me that I probably overdid it in the food department today. Remember the tomatoes Cuz brought me weeks ago? I cut the last one today and had a tomato and onion sandwich. I’m out of avocado and planned to go to Walmart today but I looked at my supply of food and I really didn’t need to. When I go, I buy more than what’s on my list.

My resolve to get to bed at a reasonable hour vanished long ago. I need to get it back but to do that, I have to get up earlier. Maybe tomorrow morning…

I’m wondering if a spoonful of lemon juice and honey might help your cough. It would be wonderful if it would.

Incidentally everyone is enjoying the apples and both your sisters enjoyed mousse yesterday.

No. The lemon juice and honey would taste good but that’s all the benefit it would have. I think the cough is caused by a combination of things—reflux, PND and the pulmonary fibrosis.

I’m glad the food isn’t going to waist—er, waste!
