Here’s Hoping

The last two nights have been so hot I haven’t wanted to go to bed. It was 1 a.m. before I got up the nerve to turn in. When I did, it was 84 in my bedroom. Thank goodness for the fan and for my earthing bag. Something about it is cooling. Maybe it’s the silver threads?

This is the l a s t night my granddaughter will ever be 18. In years past, I’ve gone to celebrate with them but as she got older, she outgrew such. I’ll send her a gift certificate and give her the rest of her present when I see her next.

Bathroom ScalesMy near-starvation (not really) on Sunday resulted in my weighing over six lubs less than the day before. Yesterday, I’d gained a lot of it back and this morning, I was up by another .9 lub. That isn’t the direction I want to go but with the heat, I’m beyond exercising. Honestly, walking around the house can make me a sticky mess.

I saw something on Facebook that would be great to have in the house. Let’s face it. My place is far from being beautiful and something like this could, at least, improve the chances for comfort.

Now, isn’t that just super neat? I already have a fan that could be used for it. I haven’t priced ice chests but a plain one couldn’t be terribly expensive. The PVC looks like something used for a septic tank line. My cousin probably has a piece or two lying around somewhere. I’ve posted this on her Facebook wall. Of course, she doesn’t have Internet access where she is right now but maybe someday…

I had a text from her this morning that my CIL would be by to bring food for the critters and he’d feed so I didn’t have to do that today.

The mobile templates are finished and I uploaded them a little while ago. Next order of business is getting the other set done. I’ll save that for tomorrow.

It’s past 9 and I should really try to get to bed earlier.

I’ve had to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit on the little pyramid clock I have in the bedroom so I could see what the temperature was. I was trying to figure out how to change the readout to Fahrenheit and ran the batteries down. I’ve spent the last half hour or more fooling with it and finally got ‘er done. I have no idea how I did it so I won’t EVEN try to set the time and date. The clear top had popped off. I put it back on with double-sided tape. It won’t tell me what time it is but it’s 83.4 degrees where I’m sitting at the moment.

Tommie, I was under the impression you have air conditioning. Wrong?

The unit is there but the ducts have been contaminated by rodents. I’m not using it until they are thoroughly cleaned. A man came in and cleaned the register areas but that didn’t get what was betwixt and between. I don’t need to breathe dust off mouse droppings.

Is there somebody who could make it usable for a reasonable price?

The prices I’ve seen aren’t reasonable for me. There’s an air leak somewhere, too.
