Rock Hard Abs?

When I had my gallbladder surgery, my abdomen was blown up like a balloon. It stretched my abdominal muscles from here to eternity and I didn’t think I would ever get them back. Lately, though, I have been noticing they are getting tighter. I can sense them working when I’m exercising. Not that they’ll ever be like they were when I was years younger but I don’t feel as spread out and sloppy as I did. I may still look it but I don’t feel it.

Today has been cooler than other days. I’ve been wearing my robe over Mother’s dress for warmth part of the time. It’s kind of been like a yoyo. I’ve put it on, then taken it off, back on, then off, ad infinitum. I even turned one of the fans off for several hours.

I finished and uploaded two of the lessons. They were split before I could edit them so that means twice the work. I usually do my part before they’re inserted into the two sets of templates. Oh, well. Guess I’ll get paid the same either way.

I’d looked out earlier today and saw my CIL was home. He’s supposed to let me know when he feeds the critters so I won’t feed them, too. No harm, no foul. They would have liked to be fed again but they weren’t.

A couple hours later, I was exercising when the doorbell rang. It was my cousin. She needed the key to the house. She looked for the tool to fix the screen—again—but couldn’t find it. I’d been looking at grilles to cover the screen but she said to let her think about it.

Post-exercise, I took a bag of trash out to the shed. On the way back, I munched the few strawberries that were ripe. They’re definitely on the wane. At least they made it through the bitter cold this past winter. The fig tree is toast. I’ve been looking in vain for some green but I think it was killed clear through to the very roots. Sad. I really enjoyed the figs the past two seasons.

This morning, I was reading some more about poor chickens and how they are treated and noticed the link for an expanded version of the report I posted a link for last night. You can find it here. It isn’t for the faint of heart. Such terrible things humanity inflicts on other living creatures. God sees every sparrow that falls. I’m sure this cruelty hurts Him.

I spoke to my niece tonight about the plans to entertain her cousins. I got emails from The Visitors that they were in Charlotte and headed this way.

Well, I must quit being mean to Twinkle and give her some food. You’d think from looking at her that I starve her on a regular basis. Maybe if she were force-fed huge amounts every day she might gain weight. I’m not going to do that.
