Ouch! That Hurt!

The mangoes were 78 cents each and looked decent so I got several of them. I was going to be very good and have mangoes and bananas for the major portion of my meal yesterday afternoon. Now I know why people hate mangoes. These are the worst I do believe I have ever eaten. Juicy, yes. Sweet, no. They are sour and stringy. I ate one and hoped for the best for the rest. (Hey! that rhymes!)

The banana was so I would get my daily dose of potassium. I shudder to think what might have happened if I hadn’t eaten it.

In spite of telling myself to quit trying to get WordPress installed, I attempted it one more time before I went to bed. Still no dice. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. When I put in the pathway for install.php, the folder comes up empty.

I went on to bed and settled myself down for a good night’s sleep. The rain was falling softly and I had a small fan running in my bedroom to keep the fresh air coming in from the bathroom window.

Rocker RXSometime in the night (I didn’t look at the clock), I woke with leg cramps. I’d walked 2.5 miles in my Rocker RX sandals and my muscles were screaming. I can usually ride out such attacks but this one went on and on.

I got up and pulled on my housecoat, then wobbled out to the kitchen. My little store of pain pills is getting very slim so I don’t take one unless I absolutely have to. It isn’t like I can get another prescription for them. From what I understand, they are pretty weak but one took care of the pain for me. That’s probably because I rarely take anything—not even Tylenol or ibuprofen. In a few minutes, I was back to sleep.

Before I got out of bed, I called the hospital to talk to the patient accounts rep. It went to voice mail. Nothing to do but get up and face the day.

A couple hours later, the phone rang. It was the patient accounts rep. She had contacted Humana as promised and the bill would be resubmitted and processed without the co-pay. “Just disregard the bill for $65, honey.” Normally, I bristle when someone I don’t know calls me a term of endearment but it didn’t bother me at all. Now, if she could make the inpatient co-pay disappear but I think that’s too much to ask.

The rest of the day has been spent Getting Things Done. I finished putting the BibleGateway links in lesson 13 so this quarter is all tied up with a pretty little bow.

It rained a lot of the morning but the sun came out this afternoon. The temperatures are cooler so the fan I put together last night is off. I’m back in long sleeves and long pants. I haven’t turned on any heat but I may need to in the morning. I’d bought a lightweight housecoat for warmer weather but it still has the tags. I’m returning it. It’s pretty skimpy. I’ve ordered one through Amazon. If I like it, I may get the other three prints.

Big Brother is putting Genese’s computer at risk because she can’t get the updates she needs. It’s so illogical for her to be required to have her own anti-virus program when the site is blocked so she can’t download the definitions. Then again, it’s par for the course.

Twinkle has been reading my blog. That’s the only explanation I can come up with. She saw where I was talking about the amount she’s been eating and she thought, “I’ll show her!” and now she’s scaled back.

My sister still can’t connect to the Internet with the notebook. This afternoon I was stewing about it not being updated and then it occurred to me—it’s not my problem now. Just because I’d be more proactive about gettin’ ‘er done doesn’t mean she’s the same way.

Any suggestions to speed the process will be more than welcome. I don’t like being against a brick wall.

If your computer guy would make a housecall, he could probably resolve it quickly.

You and WordPress, one with a remote, one with a laptop… all frustrated, in spite of attempts over and over to get it done!

Guess that makes us three of a kind.
