A Lazy Day

It was a beautiful day but I had no desire to go out and enjoy it. The congestion I had when I went to bed last night was mostly gone but I was tired. Fellowship meals aren’t the most satisfying in the world when there’s no balance unless I take enough myself not to be hungry when I get home. Being a vegan at a vegetarian potluck is like being a vegetarian at a carnivore get-together. I’ve been both and it ain’t fun. In the past, I’ve skipped it and come home and I may go back to that. Vegetarians can eat vegan food but the reverse is not always true.

I need to resign as Truth Police on Facebook. People will not check the most obviously fake stuff out before they post. You’d think intelligent folk would realize that just because it’s on the Internet, it isn’t necessarily true. If a person uses Chrome, it’s super easy to look for things. Highlight a key phrase, right click on it and choose “Search Google for [whatever]”. If it can be debunked, the top “finds” will usually do it.

The lessons are coming along, slowly but surely. I know the editor wishes I’d get a move on and get them done but I’m not the HTML expert. I’m more interested in accuracy than in speed. They’re complete through week 8. Week 9 has everything but the Inside Story. If you click on the button for InStory, nothing happens.

I keep forgetting a text that came in on my Google Voice number yesterday. Strange, since it isn’t listed except in the church directory and I don’t have it posted anywhere. It must have been a mis-dial. For one thing, I’m Tommie. “Good morning Maggie sorry to hear you lost your job this is Bill if you want to do this is is my number if you ever wanna holler at me” Poor Bill is still waiting because I haven’t hollered.

DD called this afternoon and we talked for most of an hour. She and a friend were going furniture shopping—again. I sent her the link for the Cavalry’s web site. There are definitely components that aren’t being used. Until I can log into it, though, there’s nothing I can do but look.

I’ve tried to get in touch with the Computer Owner with no luck. We’d agreed on today to try to get her problems solved but I can’t do anything there, either, all by myself.

Twinkle is dozing on her chair. When I ran the dishwasher today, I included her water dish. It’s a heavy Corningware cake pan that she can’t move around and slop water on the floor. Guess I’d better go fill it and dole out her food for tonight. When I took my bath today, she came in and drank my bathwater. That’s something she hasn’t done for months. She must be doing better.

Genese isn’t any closer to getting back into her room. From what she says, it could be another two weeks. That seems a little extreme to me but I guess there’s a lot to do. It’s next in line to be painted but the stuff to strip and wax the floors must be on backorder. It’s probably out there looking for my Get Up and Go.

Thanks for the tip on checking out things on FB. Never knew this before.

Now that you do, I expect you to use it! 🙂 See why I like Chrome so much?

Potlucks… Even more fun when you add to vegan no nightshades and preferably no gluten (to prevent joint pain/aches). Thankfully, one person almost always makes pinto beans very plainly–and yummy. So I try to make something I can eat that is substantial–a favorite is polenta with pumpkin sauce, with maybe mushrooms, artichokes, spinach, zucchini, and/or olives. And tomato-less salad 🙂

I usually try to take enough that I can make a meal on just that but I made the mistake not to last time. Your polenta with pumpkin sauce sounds good but I’d have to 86 the spinach. It isn’t that I don’t like it. That was my primary allergen.
