My Thanksgiving

Last night was another uncomfortable one. No acid reflux to keep me awake but there was a sore spot on my back that didn’t let me sleep. It eased after I got up at 1 a.m. and soaked in a tub of very warm water.

It’s been warmer today but the house was still cold. I dared to breathe mouse droppings and turned on the furnace. It blew dust all over the place and made it even harder for me to breathe. I gave up later and turned it down and the Dr. Heater is back in service.

I called DS1 to wish him the greetings of the day.

I’ve had a splitting headache and I wasn’t the only one. My CIL came over and checked on me. He said he had a terrible headache, too. Wonder if it’s something that’s going around?

My nose has been drippy, as well. Mother would say it’s run like a “sugar tree”. Coughing, sneezing, itchy eyes. I’ve had them all. Needless to say, I didn’t go anywhere.

DD called while she and a friend were out walking in the park. We didn’t talk long but she did want to wish me a happy Thanksgiving. I’m afraid I was barely able to talk.

This evening, I was going to put a couple of drops of peppermint oil in the pan of water I keep on the stove. When I tipped it up, more like 1/4 teaspoon came out. It was so strong I had to pour it down the sink and refill the pan with plain water.

I emptied one box of tissues and have started on another. The first one wasn’t full but it had quite a bit in it this morning. My nose is beginning to get sore.

Rather than have the meal I’d hoped for, I’ve eaten lightly again. Potato soup for breakfast and Great Northern beans, avocado and crackers for supper. Exciting fare.

Twinkle is waiting for her B-12—NOT. I’ll give it to her, anyway, and then I’ll go to bed. Unless I feel much better, I’m probably in for the weekend.

What a bummer! I am so sorry you are ailing again, and that you missed out on a nice Thanksgiving. Hope it won’t last long.

I feel like I keep ailing. I feel better today but still a long way from going and doing.

Sorry you’re still under the weather! I think great northern beans, avacado and crackers would be a meal I could enjoy! Add some steamed broccoli and a salad, and that would be a feast! Hope you’re better today, and still better for the weekend.

I have broccoli but it would have taken more energy than I had to fix—and eat—it. My lettuce is past salad-making. The avocado had to sub for salad.
