Four weeks ago today, I thought when this much time had passed, I’d be able to deep-clean the house, turn the siding from green to beige and rearrange the furniture. No such luck. I’ve had to face up to reality and my reality is, even when I feel good, I rest a lot.
This morning, I decided I would take my little pruning shears and go out to operate on the branches that caressed my car on the way to the road. They wouldn’t cut even the smallest twigs. I came back in, got a saw knife (it must be for cutting through bone) and got through enough of the 1/2″ branches to be able to break them so they now lie on the ground. No more patting the car as I go by.
That about did it for me until later on this afternoon. I braved the elements (it’s definitely getting cooler) in my shorts and t-shirt to get the mail. I was surprised to see my cousin, one of her construction crew and my CIL looking at the ruins of the old house. I didn’t have my hearing aids on (part of my plan to use my energy in healing) so whatever my cousin said to me didn’t even go in one ear, let alone out the other. They got back to their discussion which seemed to be more or less confidential so I came back to the house.
I’ve been monitoring my claims on the Humana web site. There are three in review—anesthesia, hospital outpatient surgery and the last visit to the pulmonologist. The surgeon has been paid. As I was going through all the line items, it occurred to me I still haven’t been reimbursed for paying the co-pay for my wellness visit in April. I called the billing office and, after being on hold forever, the rep told me a refund had never been requested. Now, how many times had I been assured it had been sent to accounting? I told her I’d been told multiple times it had. Well, it hadn’t but she would send over a request today. We’ll see how long that takes.
Before the Mother Ship took over the little hospital where I used to be gainfully employed, I worked Medicare credit balances. Every penny has to be accounted for and thoroughly documented. It’s supposed to be done within three months of the payment date. This is well outside that three month deadline. I’m tempted to report them and just may do that if I don’t get my refund soon. It’s just $10 but, hey! that would buy a nice supply of fruit.
The day buttons (besides Sabbath) weren’t working on the Sabbath School lessons. I’d let the editor and the HTML expert know yesterday. When I checked this morning, nothing had been done. Seems the expert is out of pocket so I bit the bullet and fixed everything I could find that was wrong. I may have missed some but I’ll find that out if/when I come to them.
It’s past 10 o’clock. I need to shut this down and go to bed. Good night, all!
