Yesterday was a killer. I’ve felt like doing zilch today. I’d made an appointment with the audiologist to adjust my hearing aids and almost called to cancel. I didn’t though. Neither did I do anything but eat and shower before I went. Oh, and I dressed, too. I’m sure that was important.
When I got there, I was called back before too many minutes had gone by. I’d busied myself with a National Geographic where I learned about the manakin. Of course, there’s a video on youtube showing what I was reading about.
Back in the inner sanctum, I was hooked up to the computer and the aids were adjusted. Then she started troubleshooting my Tek and transmitter. There was a crackle with the transmitter and the right hearing aid didn’t always pick up the signal. After listening with her stethoscope, she said my aid was at fault. She’s sending it back to be repaired or replaced.
Then she asked me how I was doing. I told her I’m still shaky but I’m better. However, I’d left the dishes undone and the bed unmade. She rose up like an old mother hen and thoroughly trounced me for trying to do anything. She said I’d been through a very serious surgery and I shouldn’t be doing anything more than sitting with my feet up. She informed me that she’d been there, done that, and she knew what I was going through.
I’d intended to go to get the rest of the things on my list but when I walked to the car, I figured she was right. I was just about weak as water. Getting under the wheel, I drove myself home and changed back into my robe. I did eat supper and I did wash the dishes. I also did a small load of clothes since I needed The Dress to be clean.
Finally! I heard from the Registration Supervisor at the hospital about the HIPAA issue. She had met with their privacy officer and they had figured out what happened. When my DPOA was scanned, the clerk thought it was a POA, as well, and put it in as such. The lady was very nice and I accepted her explanation and apology. When she asked if there were anything else she could help me with, I told her she could take care of any upcoming bills. She laughed. I guess that was a silly request.
My cousin called to check a time with me and I’ve done some emailing and posting on Facebook. The bed is still unmade. I’ll need to straighten it up before I snuggle into it tonight.
Prayer meeting was tonight and I had planned to go but had to face the fact that I’m just not up to it yet.
Twinkle has been dosed (I sneaked up on her while she was sleeping), fed, the water kefir has been decanted and raisins added. I’m sitting here with a cup of Dandy Blend debating whether I should reveal something or not. Maybe tomorrow night. We’ll see.
