A Bit of an Update

Couldn’t sleep last night. The only time I felt close to comfortable was when I was soaking in a tub of hot-ish water and for a few minutes after. Coughing hurt my back.

Was up at 2 something a.m. TT and answered an email from my sister. It time-stamped EDT. Wrote one to my doctor.

Called the clinic at 8:15. Found out it opens at 8:30. The answering service still answered at 8:40 and advised me to wait “10-15 minutes”. I waited five.

Asked if I could be worked in today. Doctor got on phone and said he would order an ultrasound and lab work. Finally faced the fact that I could not drive myself and called my cousin’s brother-in-law to take me.

Everyone at the hospital is so nice. The lab work was just two tubes of blood and the ultrasound lasted for maybe 20 minutes.

My driver had one stop to make and then he brought me home. I tried to give him some money but he said I’m family and he doesn’t take money from family. That’s what he thinks.

When I got in the house, I had an email from my doctor. I have stones. If I get worse, go to the ER. Otherwise, he would work me in on Tuesday at 9. I was in bed when the phone rang. It was the surgeon’s office asking if I could be there tomorrow. The doctor had asked them to see me ASAP.

I contacted my cousin about a ride tomorrow. She said either she or her BIL would take me.

I called the pianist to let her know there’s a good chance I won’t be there Sabbath. While we were on the phone, my cousin left voice mail.

Didn’t listen to it but called her back. She’s sure her BIL will be available but if he isn’t, she will be. Bless them.

Earlier, I cut up two mangoes, put half of the cubes in the fridge and forced myself to eat four bites of the other. I got the container out, loaded the rest into it and put it all in the freezer. I can’t think of a single thing I want to eat.

Twinkle was nice and didn’t move when I dosed her tonight. I think she knows something is going on.

I’m not there to help, but I can pray! And I am.

    Good for Twinkle!

Too bad we’re too far away to help, but what a blessing that you have willing chauffers and helpers there!

Lila, the prayers are needed and I appreciate them. MJ, it is a great blessing that I have help. I would have to call a taxi (if there is one that services this area) or the ambulance otherwise. They’re amazing people. If I tried to drive, I’d be a hazard to myself and everyone else.
