Too Much. Just Too Much.

There were some problems with the code I was trying to put in the lessons. I thought there was, anyway. Turns out, the code was right. I was using it incorrectly. Oh, well. Live and learn. The downside of finding out the right way was that, once I got started, it was hard to stop.

I’d taken a break to do my Wii Fit Body Test when DS1 called. We talked for more than 40 minutes. That isn’t a usual thing so I put off the test while we visited.

When I did the test, my Wii age was 38, up from 20 yesterday. And my computer screen just blinked. I hope that isn’t an omen…

Like a junkie, I was back to the computer working on the lessons again. Once I’d gotten the hang of it, it was like I couldn’t stop. But I had to.

On my way out from getting some oranges for a late breakfast, I heard the phone ringing. I dashed to answer it and it was my cousin saying she was in some sort of predicament and needed me to come over. She said not to hurry, that it could wait but I have this problem with curiosity.

Leaving my oranges on the counter, I went. She was out in her little shop working on some items she’s going to give as gifts. She needed them scanned so there would be a background to match them when she got through. I can’t say any more than that or I might tell what it is. Anyway, I brought one of them home but instead of scanning it, I copied it. I took the result back over and, according to her, it was perfect.

She gave me several more to copy. I came back, got that started, finished eating breakfast (three oranges, juiced, three peaches, one large mango all blended together) about 2 p.m. TT. A little later, I watched Andy while I rebounded. I had to stop and turn the transmitter off because it was crackling something terrible. To be able to hear, I turned the volume on the TV ‘way up. The audiologist says it’s a low battery that causes the crackling but it just started yesterday. It gets fully charged every night.

The phone rang again and it was a recording from Humana counseling me to get my early warning tests done.

I took all the stuff back over to my cousin and she was more than pleased. The kittens scattered when they saw me. I guess they like me for my “loaves and fishes”.

When I got back home, I started in on the lessons again. I think these take the prize for single chapters and single verses as in Daniel 7 or vs. 13 (no chapter specified). All of those have to be hard-coded and it’s very tedious work. Nevertheless, it was like a narcotic and I had to make myself stop.

I ate another meal (not sure what to call it under the circumstances) and launched into the lessons again. I’m not entirely certain whether I did two or three today. I have the last one I’ve completed and the date on a sticky note on my desktop and it says “less11”. I think it had “less09” this morning.

The lessons took over my life today and that has to stop. Thankfully, there are only two more to do for the 4th quarter but then there’s the index, moving the images, modifying the style sheet—the list goes on and on. The editor is making preparation for being gone for another stretch and I don’t believe she’ll have Internet access again.

Before anyone thinks I should quit SSNet, I won’t do that but I do need to pace myself.

The fruit flies were snacking on Twinkle’s food again. I just got back from waving my magic wand. This time, when I finished, I rubber-banded a piece of cheesecloth over the end so I can tell if they are finding their way back out after a ride in the wind tunnel.

Genese is on a roll. She won the last two games and is well on her way to winning a third. I’d better watch my step.

Today has been a busy day but I don’t have a whole lot to show for it. The only tangible things are the copies I made for my cousin. That’s something.

Sounds to me like you have a lot to show for it!

      Maybe so. I don’t know.

That late meal wouldn’t even qualify as brunch, let alone breakfast. Take care of yourself!

Yes, ma’am. I’ll try to do better.
