My cousin was home this afternoon for the first time in several days. I went over to visit for a little while. When I went, it had been raining a bit but the sun was out. She had me use one of her umbrellas on my way back because it was coming down hard enough I would have been soaked coming home. I hadn’t seen any of the kittens yet but two were out playing. As soon as they saw us, they went skittering.
While I was strung out on antibiotics, I’d gotten away from my habit of drinking Dandy Blend every day. With wet feet and chilled from the rain, as soon as I dried off, I heated water and fixed a cup. It was oh! so good but I had to turn on the fan after I got more warmed up than I needed to be.
Let’s get back to yesterday. I hadn’t heard anything from the editor for a day or two and it was oh so nice. Here came an email. The main (Maine) geek was planning to work on the lessons tonight. She wanted to have them done and accessible by yesterday. Literally. The man in South Africa hasn’t finished the helps yet so the go live date is pushed farther and farther back. Maybe I could do a final proof/corrections to the first three and a bit more work on 4-13? I agreed to that. My stomach has calmed down a bit.
More berries are getting ripe. I have no idea how many I ate yesterday but when I’d think I was through, I’d see another one. They need to be thinned. The leaves are itchy like okra.
Thursday morning, I went out and took pictures of the sage.
That shows the true color much better than when the sun is shining on it. Sun washes it out.
I took a picture of the buds on the mystery tree, too. It has done no good to try to find out the name. I’ve Googled and posted on gardening forums to no avail. If someone out there can tell me what it is, I would appreciate it.
Yesterday, I mostly dunced around and didn’t get a lot done. I did laundry and dishes and cooked and ate. Big accomplishments. Oh, and I took this picture of the allium that is beginning to bloom. There are three buds on the plants my CIL put in my grow box.
The damage at the audiologist’s office is major. Some of the inside walls are having to be replaced. She said the repairs will be going on Monday and Tuesday. IF they get finished on schedule, she and the receptionist will spend Wednesday and Thursday putting the office back together. However, it hasn’t all been for naught. The receptionist’s daughter has been sick so she’s had time to spend with her.
This morning, I got up early enough to be the first musician at church. I wasn’t the first person. Someone had beat me there for that title but she didn’t have a key so she and her little dog were sitting in the car, waiting. She brings her little dog into church and it quietly stays in its carrier during the proceedings.
I was able to play one song before the pianist got there. With my loaner aid, I couldn’t really tell whether it was too loud or not.
The hymns were TBA in the bulletin but I collared the speaker and got the numbers. Neither hymn is difficult but it’s nice to know beforehand what they are.
I could hear most of the Sabbath School superintendent’s remarks as well as the Mission Spotlight. Much of the lesson time was spent listening to my own thoughts. I couldn’t understand a lot of what was said. The speaker for church is very soft-spoken so I had problems there, too. He started out strong but he didn’t stay that way.
It was barely sprinkling when I got home. I noticed the tree has begun to bloom. The camera was on the ready so I snapped this:
If anyone knows what it is, please tell me!
The results still aren’t in for my cousin’s construction partner’s daughter but treatment is going forward, anyway. I requested prayer for her in church.
Twinkle hasn’t eaten much in the last 24 hours. I hope it’s just a phase.
