The Last Day of my Stay-cation

I have half an hour to write about my week’s activities. There won’t be a lot to report since I’ve been home most of the time and TRYING to get into a cleaning mode. The house is better than it was but it still isn’t where I’d like it to be. But is it ever?

The pastor was mostly well and back at church last Sabbath. I stayed for the fellowship meal, contributing a watermelon and a huge salad. Both were just about licked up. The ladies sitting next to me were disappointed to see all the melon on the table was gone. I tipped them off that there was some left in the kitchen I couldn’t fit on the tray. One of the visitors asked if I were on a cleansing diet with my watermelon-only meal. I told her I always eat that way. There wasn’t a desire to go into my strange ways.

I’d called the hospital from the church and found out my friend was supposed to be coming back that afternoon. When I got there, she had been delivered and was safely in bed. We had a good visit. She’s been pretty weak since but she sounded much better yesterday and today. I visited one other person before I came home.

Only two days out of the seven was spent inside all day and one of those was Sabbath. It was too late to get any sun then. The other day was spent cleaning. Besides that, I got half an hour each day. Once, I got a whole hour!

I had to make a trip back to the roadside market to get a watermelon (one of the ones I got before I left the valley was overripe). We had a long talk about retirement and the hospital.

The worms came mid-week and made it through with few casualties. They are in their new abode and seem to be doing well. The only problem is, I’m not only growing earthworms. Fruitflies are in residence, too. Any ideas on how to get rid of them without getting rid of the worms, too?

It was useless trying to make it until today before going food shopping. I ran out of bananas on Wednesday. I suited up and went to town yesterday, checked on Mother and hauled off garbage in the process.

Today has been spent mostly in the kitchen. I can’t remember the last time I used the microwave. I used to warm my water in it but I’ve quit doing that. I moved it into the spare bedroom. I haven’t been able to find what I want to put in its place. DD and merm have some neat produce bins but I haven’t hit on the right search words yet. It will be a few weeks before I can afford them (my car insurance comes up next month).

And now a look into the future. My third anniversary is coming up on Tuesday! Who woulda thunk it three years ago? I was a confirmed cooked foodist and decided to try eating raw food on a lark. Here I am, still at it. People don’t see how I do it but I don’t want to go back to my old ways with my old ailments. Besides, I get to eat all I want of my favorite foods. Can’t beat that with a stick!

I’ve run over by a few minutes so this is where I will say good night and Happy Sabbath!

Tommie, you are truly an inspiration. I don’t say things like that lightly. I do admire too your steadfast faith in God too. You remind me a bit of a friend of mine, but I do say you have more endurance in doing things that are good for you.
    With much admiration,
    Fruiltoop

Floop, you are too kind. I still have an addictive personality—it’s just shifted to salt! I do appreciate your perception of me and wish I deserved it more.
