Visiting

Today is the day I go to spend the weekend with DS2 and his family. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night. It was well past midnight when I was able to drift off. I’d been in bed, relaxing, since a little past 10:30. Now, for an accounting of my week.

Sunday I went grocery shopping. With summer coming on, there’s so much good food available that it’s hard to eat all I buy. I found grapefruit, apricots, local strawberries and all sorts of other yummies.

DD and DS1 both called and we had good visits. Between the two, I spent 1/2 hour in the sun.

It was laundry day. Got ‘er all done but not ironed.

I thought the fan I keep in my bedroom had quit and it was aggravating because I got it less than a year ago. I “triggered” with it (as Mother would say) and it’s still working.

Monday dawned a beautiful day. I was able to get out for 1/2 hour in the morning and afternoon both. Later on, it opened up and rained. That was good for the tomatoes and basil. I didn’t get a lot accomplished but I enjoyed my day off.

Tuesday it was back to work. I was sitting in the break room when one of my co-workers came in and patted me on the back. “It was so nice of you to give back the bike.” I told her I had an ulterior motive. She wanted to know what it was and I told her I didn’t want to hurt myself.

I fixed two quarts of berries and put them out for anyone who wanted them. I was the only one who ate any. I took them home.

I hadn’t known the bloodmobile was going to be parked here at the hospital that day. I’d not been able to get up my nerve to give since I’ve been eating raw. I don’t know why because I’m in better shape to do it now than I’d ever been before. I was their last victim of the day. It was no big deal. I ate a large container of watermelon to rehydrate and replenish my nutrition.

I’d planned to share the strawberries I got Sunday with my neighbors but they hadn’t been there. I managed to catch them home and took them two quarts.

My modem had somehow gotten disconnected from the Internet. It took some time to get it back up and working but I did it without having to call and speak to anyone. I’m so proud of me!

Wednesday was vision therapy day. That was about the only thing noteworthy.

Thursday I was out walking when I saw I had an optical migraine coming on. I’d only gone one lap around the buildings but I sat down in the sun for 10 minutes. It was hard to see my watch around all the glitter but I managed. It continued on for another 10 minutes after I got back inside.

Several people have asked me if I’ve been riding my bike. I tell them yes, I rode it up the mountain 10 miles and back down the mountain 10 miles. When they look amazed, I tell them I didn’t even take it out of the car. That one bicycle made $210 total for the Relay. The chances brought in $130 and the auction was another $80.

I checked on my little garden and discovered something had been digging in it. I hoped it wasn’t the Neighbor Cat. There was a plastic spoon in the kitchen drawer that came in handy to explore and see what might be hidden. I didn’t find anything in the first two but the third yielded a pecan! A squirrel had buried it for hard times. I took it out and threw it away. Too bad for the squirrel. DD has had problems in the past with a squirrel eating her tomatoes. Maybe this one won’t care for them.

And now today, Friday. It would sprinkle off and on today but it never opened up and rained. If it hasn’t rained by the time I get back, I’ll water the garden with the water I caught during the last downpour.

I’m ready to call it a day and get ready for bed soon.

Good night and Happy Sabbath!

Good night Tommie and Happy Sabath. It is good to read your blog as it feels like I ‘know’ someone who is Raw and has a stable relationship with her food! *L* Plus, it is good to read of your doings.

I appreciate your feedback, Floop. You are one of my most faithful readers. I don’t know about the stable relationship. There’s still that salt problem!
