When I got ready for bed last night, said bed wasn’t very warm. Even though it had been plugged up all day, it would have been another night in the “coolth”. That was something I couldn’t handle so…I left it plugged up. I slept. I slept warm. It was oh! so comfy that I had a hard time getting up to ready myself for the day. I knew I was basking in the glow of EMFs (Electric and Magnetic Fields) but I figured one more night after all those years (I started sleeping in a water bed back in the 70s) couldn’t do a whole lot of harm. I’ve tried to spread the word through my family but I’ve been met with silence. I believe they think I’ve lost it once again. “Tommie’s gone off the deep end. First raw food and now this.” I want to learn more (one of my failings or attributes, however you want to look at it) so I’ve ordered Currents of Death: Power Lines, Computer Terminals, and the Attempt to Cover Up Their Threat to Your Health. Quite a mouthful, huh? I read some excerpts from the book and it isn’t the wild-eyed extremist tome it sounds like it might be. There are several others along the same lines but this one was the most affordable which is what I need at the moment.
There’s another crisis looming of the electric sort. I’d gotten some lettuce out of the other fridge and, in fixing it, discovered it was partially frozen. I salvaged what I could and ventured forth to see what the rest of it was like. There were four big heads of what used to be beautiful romaine. All frozen solid. I have lots of kelp noodles in the same fridge that will ruin if they freeze. I turned the temperature to the lowest setting and will hope for the best. I was assured when I got it that it would be okay where it is. I don’t care that the freezer part isn’t reliable. It’s the refrigeration that I need. I was hoping not to have to go lay in a supply of lettuce until the end of the week but it looks like I’ll probably have to Go Trade on Wednesday.
Report! I was in bed at 10 o’clock last night. As I’ve already said, I slept warm and well. I was up in time to get in a half hour of exercise including a 64 second (I think) pushup. I didn’t have any overt fat today. Goals met or exceeded.
Day Eight Raw Food
24 ozzies OJ
34 ozzies banana/romaine smoothie
4 banana 2 Golden Delicious apples Apples with Snow
Probably 1/2 cup persimmon pudding
2 Bubbies pickles (both fairly small)
4 tomatoes with kelp noodles with a sprinkle of garlic powder and sea salt
1 mug garlic lemonade
I courted disaster and ate my apples and bananas in the break room. You can tell it’s after the holidays because there’s lots of talk about Weight Watchers. It’s probably a good program for people who don’t want to change what they eat—just how they eat it. The weight they lose comes back later and brings friends. What reminded me of it is my brother-in-law sent me a bunch of church bulletin bloopers (the kind that go the rounds of e-mail several times a year). One is “Weight Watchers will meet at 7 PM at the First Presbyterian Church. Please use large double door at the side entrance.”
My friend was complaining about my hair today. She wants me to put color on it. I asked her if she was saying that the Lord made a mistake when He gave me what I have. She changed the subject. I don’t think the color is bad. It may not be the latest thing but it’s mine. Why should I change it? Seriously, I’m asking.
After several e-mails, I was assured the Boca Burger ads would be removed from my blog. I had to confirm to my contact that yes, I knew they were sponsoring the Health-a-Thon but I don’t eat ’em and I don’t want to promote ’em. So, they’re gone.
And now, so am I. It’s been a Monday all day long. I’m glad it’s over. Since it was a holiday, I still didn’t get a battery put in my car but it started at 15º. As long as it does what it’s supposed to, it’s okay.
Good night, sleep tight, and don’t let ANYTHING bite!
