I have no idea how to start this post.

It was early early when I woke. Best I can remember, it was about 2 am. I didn’t get up. I was probably awake for an hour and lay there and prayed for people I knew needed more help than I can give them. When I did go back to sleep, I got up too late to do my vision therapy. That means I have one more Wednesday to get it done this year.

First shift was having a Christmas dinner and everyone was invited to participate. I peeled, sliced, and diced and fixed stuff for one of my, as someone termed it, “killer salads” and some persimmon pudding. I marinated a package of kelp noodles in the rest of the cashew dressing mixed with Bubbies relish.

100% Raw Food

20 ozzies grapefruit juice
32 ozzies banana/mixed berry/spinach smoothie
24 ozzies banana/red leaf smoothie
Some of the raw veggies from the dinner
5 tomatoes
Half the leftover persimmon pudding
Half the leftover salad with the rest of the kelp noodles
1 Bubbies pickle

It was all I could do to get out the door on time but I made it. I was carrying bags and didn’t miss my tote until I was in the car. Needless to say, I came back in the house and got it.

One of the Lunch Bunch came in with gifts all around. She’d gotten the others jewelry and pronounced me hard to buy for. My gift was an Izod shirt, very pretty. She said, “Now, it’s not something to eat!” But it was GREEN! Definitely my color.

My mortgage has matured once again. I’d stopped at the bank yesterday to get an application to renew it. I shudder to think what my interest rate will be when all is said and done. The application is all filled out and turned in. I doubt the papers will be ready this week but I’m sure I’ll have the news, good or bad, before the New Year.

The bag of spinach I got yesterday had already started to rot even though the date on it was the 22nd. I picked through and got enough for breakfast and had planned to take the rest to put in the salad. It was pitiful. I bagged it up, found my receipt, and took it back to the store. They offered to replace it but I told them it was the best-looking bag in the produce section. The money they refunded paid for the bag of salad I got for lunch.

Along about 11:45, I took my offerings to the gathering place. I went back to the office and kept the place from falling apart while the others walked over and filled their plates.

My friend was piled up in bed, as usual. I offered to bring her some salad and, for a wonder, she took me up on it. I don’t know if she finished it but she was making inroads on it. She’d gone to the Christmas program the church school presented last night and said it was excellent. That’s high praise, coming from her.

After work, I headed over the mountain. I did a drive-by of Mother’s grave and everything looked as it should.

Mercifully, the weather has moderated some. It even rained a little last night. There was .2″ in the rain gauge this morning. At least I didn’t freeze when I was between the car and the stores. I only stopped two places—BiLo and Wally World. I was walking through the latter and glanced around. There was a pleasant appearing woman looking at me. I smiled and she smiled back. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was me! I still don’t recognize myself right off at times.

My shopping was done as quickly as possible and I headed home. I haven’t put everything away and I won’t tonight. It’s already past 10:30. Food was the most important thing when I got in. Twinkle had a strange idea of what would be entertaining while I was eating. She decided to upchuck not more than two feet from me. I finished my food and then cleaned up her mess.

Tomorrow is another Christmas party. I’ll have to get my gift ready before I go to bed. I bought it in October but The Procrastinator hasn’t bagged it yet.

Something tells me I should get that done and take myself to bed. I need my beauty sleep. Good night, dudes and dudettes!
